I feel like it's way harder than the original, but also more fleshed out. The Threat making you commit suicide got me pretty livid when it happened the first time.

New paint job, same game. Kind boring to just walk around in the same environments. Only fun I really has was when they gave me a Deagle and I got to send drones into the stratosphere, but aside from that there's really nothing new compared to the old one. I got into the flow of it pretty quickly and won the same day I bought it.

I had 45 hours in Receiver 1 and I really enjoy the new one so far. The devs also confirmed that they'll remove the "rank down" on quitting. Fucking flying killdrones seem faster, don't they?
Really nice improvements on everything so far and the sound is exceptional.

>haven't seen a single threat
mindkill doublethink engaged detected BEEP

>Fucking flying killdrones seem faster, don't they?
Probably. But they seem to die a lot easier.

Flying drones have gone from kamikaze fast to sanic dodging around corners and actual pathfinding, they're fucking murderous now.
I will say it's nice to see redone areas from the first game you can recognise from the shape of the layouts.

I remember them being fucking tanks in the first one. If you didn't get the camera or their blades with the first shot you had no chance of survival, and it was fucking impossible to shoot them while they were flying all over the fucking place, still is.

>The Threat making you commit suicide got me pretty livid when it happened the first time.
Same here. Unloading my gun now every time before I pick up a tape.
Would like to have seen my face the first time I shot myself when quickly holstering a cocked gun.

That's true. Taking them out from a distance with the deagle is very satisfying though.

really enjoying the game, after 4 hours still stuck on level 1~2 though, I get cocky at tape 4.

Starting to recognize suicide tapes now so I don't die to them as much.

I just want the game to spawn me with non-revolvers.

I hope one day they add more than just pistols. Rifles would be fun, as would shotguns. A bolt action, pump action, semi auto. Instead of a holster you have a sling, and you go kurt cobain if you get a bad tape.

They weren't that bad in the first game unless you had to shoot them dead on. Even then it's not too bad but you're basically betting your life on the RNG kill.
Now it's pretty much impossible to nail one if they see you just because they deliberately swerve so fucking fast. I've only manage to hit one coming at me once.

>How are you liking Receiver 2 so far?
Meh...

> It was released this week and I haven't seen a single threat.
I've seen at least 3 threads just yesterday.

Also seeing the replies go up and the Posters number staying the same confirms someone's trying to clumsily shill this average game...

I wish Rank 1 wouldn't exist. It's pretty fucking boring and has a massive difficulty gap compared to all the others

They're pretty slow and you can get out of their range with one tile.
Thank fuck for the pathfinding because when a single drone got stuck next to the doorway in 1 you may as well could've restarded the game

all threat tapes are suicide notes so it should be easy to notice you've got one by the first line. real shame that they're so predictable, the idea would've been better served with an environmental trigger that would always keep you on your toes

according to tester user, the devs only want to focus on handguns

Did you consider the possibility that a handful of people is having a conversation?

I would, if I wasn't referring to replies to the OP.

Yeah I could tell they only wanted handguns when that dramatic tape of "swords versus spears hurr durr officers had pistols" played. Whatever man, suit yourself, but I would love to wander the map with a .223 bolt action rifle or a M870. Maybe the long gun version of the deagle could be a 308. rifle and a double barrel for shotguns.

the thread I was in reached bump limit and we shared various tips and loredumps.
these kind of threads are the only reason I visit Yas Forums anymore

just wait until some autist mods them like it happened with R1

I'd love to play a more "traditional" game with these gun mechanics. "Pooled" ammo is cancer.

>just wait until some autist mods them like it happened with R1
The shotgun was fun, but kinda OP. The Thompson sucked, but was nice for single fire and the Mauser was actually pretty good. The bolt-action rifle mechanics were neat, but very impractical if you had to fire two rounds quickly.

Makes sense, the game is balanced around pistols. A shotgun in such short range done realistically would just destroy everything you aimed it at.

I'm liking it more the more I play it, but it feels like a great mechanic hindered by the game. I get that it's a small dev team but I'd like to see the ballistics and gun modelling placed into a more substantial package, maybe one that has human enemies or a multiplayer component of some sort.

Is it me or are tape spawns really inconsistent? i swear sometimes i play for twenty minutes without fining a single one and other times there are three of them crammed into a single room?
i also really enjoy that picking up a tape while another one fucks up your counter, forcing to restart, great fucking QA testing

>picking up a tape while another one fucks up your counter
the hell are you on about when you pick up one while listening to another the counter increases just fine

Chamber checking a real gun is easier than trying to do it with a keyboard.

I was just going to lurk in this thread but I instead feel like putting in the effort to call you a fucking retard.

Pressing T+R is not rocket science.

really? when i did it my counter got stuck at zero , even after picking up another one, maybe they already patched it or it's just a rare bug
you also have to release r fist so you don't eject a round, kinda clunky if you ask me

Playing it because I love wolfire, bought it same day. I'm getting through it, I just still feel like it's still a tech demo proof of concept. I want this system in a survival horror game.

>kinda clunky if you ask me
how is it clunky? R is the motion of pulling back the slide so of course you'll pull it all the way back when you release T first

Getting filtered by glock rank by rank. Fucking piece of shit.

before holstering lock the slide by first holding R then T then releasing R (you can catch the bullet by holding G). Saves you from a dozen glock legs

Better than a snub nose revolver with two chambers blocked. But you really gotta be careful not to shoot yourself with that damn heap of plastic.

Yeah the glock is retarded. Sad that they went with fuddlore for that specific weapon but the rest are pretty stellar.

Still a really barebones game. Not really a sequel and more of just a remake.

As annoying as they might be in the moment, I'm really glad they added all those malfunctions.

It's all there was to be expected and I'm fine with it. I'd gladly play somethin more elaborate with those mechanics, but for that price, it's good enough. Maybe they'll release more in the future if this goes well.

The first had a pretty neat mod that had a Shotgun and a bolt-action rifle.
Shotgun was pretty fucking OP.

I would prefer revolver with 5 blocked chambers. Lose your focus for one second and you're done. Really taxing. Especially so after multiple runs with beretta, when you reflexively press "v".

Protip for revolvers: put all the bullets in, but keep the cylinder out so the weapon can't fire. when you draw, you just have to pop the cylinder in and draw the firing pin back. easy holster tech

how come standing next to a window while it shatter fucking kills you but smashing through by running into it face first at is doesn't even scratch you?
btw, if you type "insight" on your keyboard you instantly skip to the next level

Yippee ki yay, receiver.

I mean I've never managed to shoot myself with the firing pin down anyways, think that's the benefit of the double action guns
