Do you think e-sport is a real sport?
Do you think e-sport is a real sport?
Lmao no
No. It's a shit career even compared to real sports and very marketing driven.
It could be really entertaining though, see Dota TI.
Depends on if you define sport via physical competition, or by competition alone. Because if the answer is former, then things like motor sports and racing aren't "real sports", and if the answer is the later, then things like chess and I dunno, competitive cake baking, are sports.
Fuck no.
Most sports aren't real sports.
>motor sports and racing aren't "real sports"
I can tell you've never rode even a kart on track
All those G's and the strength to corner is a huge strain on the physique, and when riding a bike just moving your whole weight left and right is extremely tiring for an hours
t. rides bike on track
no
Just like darts isn't a real sport.
I don't know or care if it qualifies as a sport but it sure is fucking gay
wow bro... these guys look real fuckin cool... wtf.... bro..........
>things like motor sports and racing aren't "real sports"
But they are. The body takes on a ton of force in the corners. There's a reason why professional drivers are always in good shape.
Fuck esports
Long live the FGC
LMAO fuck no. And I love my vidya
I didn't make any definitive claims that they aren't, I just said that if we accept them as sports, e-sports are also sports as well.
Fuck boomers, Sweeping is a Olympic sport lmao.
your point is that there is no physical competition in motorsports, but there seriously is a lot
Professional drivers have special athletical preparation for long races
its a show
Fuck no lol. Its just a bunch of autistic nerds that play the same game so much they memorized every single little detail to the point it becomes pathetic
Sitting in your stinky ass playing vidya 24/7 isn't a sport.
There's a difference riding a bike and being behind a computer clicking pixels
I think the distinction is pointless.
The closest thing to it before it really existed is probably like RC racing so judge based on that. It’s more physical than chess but the physical part is precision instead of strength. As a straight definition, I’m sure esports qualify for certain definitions of the word “sport”. Some things that are definitely sports, i.e. archery, require little physical exertion.
Mostly my answers are “who cares” followed by “I guess, kinda”
This is the most retarded discussion ever and it's the same every time. It's all just a question of words. Video games don't take the same physical effort as sports like soccer etc (though they can take physical skill in hand coordination, timing etc) but they take skill to be played at the highest level just like those other games.
So if by your question you mean "are video games as physically taxing as these other activities" then the answer is no, if you mean "are they comparable in effort/skill required to become good and be the best" then the answer is yes. If the problem is just the name call them electronical competitions instead of esports or whatever the fuck you prefer. No one thinks an esports player has the same physical fitness of a football player, it's just a name.
>I didn't make any definitive claims that they aren't
But I did. Deal with it.
>I just said that if we accept them as sports, e-sports are also sports as well.
But they aren't and shouldn't be considered as such. They're games, not sports.
Meanwhile shit like playing drums is not considered a sport despite being physically demanding, but due to the lack of competition you cannot call it a sport the same way you can't call chess and e-sports sports due to the lack of physical activity, but they're still games because of the competitive aspect.
i get what you are saying but ftm are still real women
Yes, user. Esports are real big boy sports and should be treated as such same as any other sport. For example, if the owner of the Dallas Cowboys was found to have encouraged their players to dope themselves up on dexies and ritalin, that motherfucker would do serious jail time, despite all his wealth. Let us celebrate esports acceptance as sports with vigorous investigation and testing and then equally vigorous prosecution.
Oh and before someone tries to correct me and say archery takes strength lmao no it doesn’t, no one’s shooting with a 200lb draw English longbow, they use baby compounds that half draw themselves for you. I did archery for years with fucking pencil arms.
No, thats why they're called e-sports and not just sports
If it isn't Fox Hunting or Polo, it isn't sport, chap.
esports are a cancer that killed fun in multiplayer games in the name of "balance" and also crippled singleplayer games as devs chase the lucrative espots tournament rewards and microtransactions. They are hype machines to market ugly chairs, RGB keyboards, and microtransactions (gambling).
Most of the e-sport games are just a small clique of a small handful players not allowing and fresh blood in so they can funnel in more money to the already established players and teams over and over again even if many of the teams/players are super bad.
So sounds about right
Also Olympic shooting.
>Well designed games bad
Hello retard
It is by definition, everyone who disagrees is just coping. This is a fact not an opinion, I am right and whoever thinks I'm not is wrong.
I don't know if you're one of the idiots saying e-sports aren't sports, but if you are and you're also up automotive sports' ass this much, then you're a contrarian faggot.
>Formula 1 goes up to lateral 6 g's, close to what a fighter jet can do
>This is the same as moving the mouse really fast and playign the keyboard piano
Is bowling a sport?
Yes.
I just want to add to your argument. Here is another type of physical motorsport.
>Saber eating Merlin's Meat
that's kinda lewd and gay, bro
