Xenoblade

Six weeks to go. Who else is jumping straight into Future Connected?

I'm conflicted about it. On the one hand I'd rather replay the full game, but on the other hand there's the risk of getting spoiled.

I would, but I really want to experience the full game again first.

I am going to play through the main game again to see how everything has changed. FC will probably be spoiled for us days before we even have the opportunity to get the game anyway.

I'll probably go on an internet blackout till I beat the game.

Should I play xeno 2 before this one?

If you haven't played 2 already then it'd be better to wait and play this first

Not me. I'll take my grand time before going to FC.

Honestly it doesn't really matter which one you play first, but play 1 first for best results.

Do you guys not know how to fucking unplug from news site or something?
Xenoblade 2 has been a 109999% unspoiled experience for me because I just looked away, even when unboxing the game.

>Honestly it doesn't really matter which one you play first
Xenoblade 2 kinda ruins everything pertaining to the seventh party member in Xenoblade Chronicles in it's DLC world though.

Why is Alcamoth so large? Every other town is either in a confined area or has distinct landmarks, and then all Alcamoth gets is two fountains and the palace as landmarks. Finding npcs in that town is a pain.

Xeno 2 is a stand alone game, but you get to see how it is connected to 1 by the end of the game. It's only a brief segment, so you can still fully enjoy the game anyway, but given how DE releases next month you may as well wait a bit and play that one first.

Even with the shoulder being huge it can't be more than a few hours tops.

There's portals involved, so it may have some additional areas. Look at Torna, nobody expected it to be such a big game on its own.

>Finding npcs in that town is a pain.
It could be worse, it could be the fucking Nopon tree city. I sure hope they made it easier for you to find NPCs in this remake.

>game timegates sidequests
>but also puts them in massive areas with no clues to find the person again
>there are four times of day, and some npcs are only present during 1/4th of the day
Xenoblade 1's sidequest system was so fucking trash. It's one of the reasons I prefer 2.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the affinity chart would tell you what times npcs would be active and their nearest landmark, and quests would always show who their giver was in its details.
Of course it wasn't perfect due to them sometimes having long routes or changing location completely if certain quests were active but you could always at least narrow down their area.

Same, I will probably have to stay away from Yas Forums for a while or else I risk running into drive-by spoilers and asshole OPs that subtly put a spoiler in the form of a seemingly unrelated question

If the player doesn't have an inkling then it's not spoilery. That's like saying knowing who KOS-MOS is spoils her plot line.

Definitely play 1 before 2. No matter what the other subhumans tell you.

Play 1 before 2, for sure. 2's customization and setup options will likely spoil every other JRPG for you.

absolutely not. 1 is superior in every possible way except for the core gameplay, which is expanded upon significantly in 2. if you play 2 before 1 you're going to make getting into 1s objectively shallower gameplay a turn off that might keep you from enjoying what is in every other aspect, a superior experience.

The affinity chart shows time active, gender, race, age, and general location (Colony 9, Frontier Village, etc.). Not the most helpful.

>fighting unique mob on top of a platform
>much higher level than me so it's not a walk in the park
>Nia runs around to catch pots, falls off the platform on her own because she's braindead
>proceeds to get stuck down there in a animation loop where she keeps throwing the ball and then cancelling it to throw it again over and over without actually accomplishing anything in the process
This happens 2 times out of 3 as I'm trying to farm this fucker. Who the hell coded this game? A monkey?

Does XC:X have a community/Afinnity chart for all the NPCs like 1 and Torna does?

i dont like that they made it look like 2 for weebfaggots.

me. won't check Yas Forums until I'm done (but if I was really smart I'd just never come back even after beating it) so I don't have to deal with "MELIA GOT UNKEKED/MELIA GOT DOUBLEKEKED/I CAN'T BELIEVE MELIA AND NIA FUCKED" shitposting

Does anyone know if they got Jenna Coleman to reprise her role as Melia or did they recast her?

Play only XC1

They talked over her only new line in the direct so there's no way of knowing

It does. You can see it on the right hand side of the screen when the guy shoots the aliens; it changes based on choices in quests and there's a bunch that only change if you talk to NPCs at certain story beats, sometimes with party members in tow.

Sweet, loved that part about 1 and Torna just itched it for me.

Should I hold out for a potential port or just play it on CEMU?

I"m playing xc2, chapter 5 so combat is fully unlocked ( except for that ability you get in the endgame but lets not get into that ) and I still dont understand why my party will not 'upgrade' their ability prompt on the sides of the screen for me to chain element correctly.
if they do go from a lvl1 to a lvl2, or from a lvl2 to a lvl3 ability, its very rare and it takes forever that I'm just better off using whatever ability at whatever level and not getting the chain.
I love the game and the gameplay; I really do but even after like 35hours I feel like I'm missing something.
It took me a long time, until recently to actually understand ho the elemental tree in the top right is supposed to be read during battles, from left to right with each branching path being shown.
I dont know if I'm being clear so any kind of help is appreciated because all I can find on google I already know and understand.

>port
hahahaha

Yeah just CEMU it.

Never played the original, but decided to get this because I finished 2 recently and loved it. Definitely plan to experience the full game, then play Future Connected, then maybe NG+ 2

>port

? So no chance of that happening? Monolith make it impossible for themselves?

In 3 separate interviews Takahashi has been asked if he would like to do an X port and the answer is always to the effect of "I would like that but it would be expensive and hard". Mind people have been speculating an X port since before the Switch was even revealed and there's still no sign of it.

They said quite some time ago that it would be difficult since they would have to change stuff due to the tablet usage. But that doesn't mean they won't do it for sure.

Play XC2 first so you can easily see how much worse XC1 is.

Cheers Lads.

I'll hold out to 2021 and if nothing in sight I'll play it on CEMU.

Unless you're a weeb coomer, don't bother with XC2.

They probably had someone new. I don't think Coleman returns for some stupid videogame. Celebs are like that.
