If they were going for the alternate timeline route, the time jannies shit could've at least been pulled off so much better. Instead, we got KH-tier faggotry. I hated seeing those fuckers spaz out in every important cutscene and being distracting.

I see it as completely different game that has nothing to do with the original FFVII. I expect this to go full KH bullshit with the DLC and sequal but what can you do, its what sells and the current generation wants. For what its worth it was okay.

That being said I will still retain that this is worse from a story and atmosphere point of view that FFVII and the advertising to this game was blatantly false.

Honestly, I haven't seen a single shot in the final that looked as good as the infantrymen in the rain in the original announcement trailer.

That having been said, all of these are extreme nitpicks in the face of the insult that was the ending.

If they tone down the KH shit, sure. I enjoyed the game thoroughly up to Chapter 17, though. I wanted more than just an HD rehash of the OG to begin with.

I really liked the Advent Children sequel, since i hate AC but the game was good!

There's nothing wrong with nitpicking. I personally wanted the model to make some mods with but the final version is ugly, not sure if I even care about it now. There are 2 pauldrons, they aren't shiny, the scarf seems worse, and the shirt is definitely worse.

This is the correct answer. And even the time jannies thing has the chance to redeem itself in part 2 and 3 depending where they go with it. If they let us choose how certain events will play out then it's more than worth it. It's ultimate fan service.
