Confirmation that it's Nomura's fault

>have original ff7 director now as producer
>he sits around holding his dick while nomura shits on everything

Kitase, who was director of the original FFVII, is asked how much input he had on the remake. He says that the overall direction and concept, story and worldbuilding was left to Nomura, while game design and drama scene direction was left to co-directors Hamaguchi and Toriyama. Kitase did not make many direct requests, but did participate as a planner on some locations in the game: He says that the initial level design for the infiltration and escape from Mako Reactor no. 5 was done by him, and hopes players take notice of it.

ff15 was better

I don't know how people could see the ending and not know it's Nomura. It's tonally indistinguishable from Kingdom Hearts, so I'm sure KHfags will love it and there are a lot of them

What's Nomura's fault? Making a great game?

I can't wait for the "secret movie" teaser to be added via patch next month

No

Its been known for a long time that Kitase just handed everything to Nomura, he ingratiated himself to the younger man and dumped everything on him.

Kitase hasn't had a serious director gig since FFX. He's only ever been credited as Special Thanks, Producer or Supervisor for nearly twenty fucking years, the man is a hypocrite resting on his one big laurel wreath from over twenty years ago and he gave his legacy to someone else willingly so he wouldn't have to do any work.

Yas Forums is going to begin dicksucking this entire sequence so hard, mark my words

I did like the idea of disabling Airbuster bit by bit

Can we just all agree FF7R is a fanfic and it's not really supposed to be THE OG Final Fantasy VII?
Even if calling it a remake is deceptive, it's more like a "what if" scenario or a sequel.

I love KH (up until 3) and I hated the ending of FF7R.

Nomura wrote the story of the original one

Didn't Nomura write the original plot?

No he didn't you shitposting retard, Sakaguchi came up with the world and story and the script was handled by him, Nojima and Kitase. Nomura was character designs ONLY.

No that was Sakaguchi.

Kys secondary nigger

Don't put words in my mouth. I love my Kingdom Hearts, but this bullshit Nomura pulled is not FF7 and he is so obssessed with this kind of storytelling that he has been worsening the story of Kingdom Hearts ever since 358/2 Days.

>He says that while FFVII Remake can be enjoyed fully on its own, the story will still continue. VII Remake shows players the great possibilities while leaving many hints, and he hopes that fans will speculate about what comes next on social media.

Maybe I'm just cynical and jaded but this kind of shit just puts me way the fuck off.

That is in fact untrue. Nomura did have some input in the original story and world building.
His credits in the game:
Character design, monster design, scenario concept, battle visual director.

He is also the one who came up with Aerith's death.

Final Fantasy 7's plot was a dumbed down version of Takahashi's original script because it was deemed too complex for a mainstream game like Final Fantasy, the original script would be later repurposed for Xenogears

>nomura on story
>toriyama on gameplay
they should have flipped this shit desu

>secondary
What the fuck are you talking about, you retarded piece of shit?

>Kawazu on story
>TRI ACE on gameplay
ftfy

Nope

That's a mistranslation of 原案 (look at Japanese sources), it means that he had input on the initial idea, he didn't touch the script.

Drink bleach and die you subhuman faggot

Can't wait for the sequel to have the world change as a result of fucking with time and it turns into Versus XIII with Sora showing up halfway through the game and the kino continuing from there.

I wouldn't call it cynical to be put off by a corporate producer prompting consumers to talk about his product on social media, that's pretty normal

My guy...do you know the literal definition of a remake?

but a recent video has the producer dude literally say that he kept going to Nomura for ideas until KH3 was complete which is little under a year including the DLC

They seem to flipflop

I mean making the game's story purposely to be filled with holes so that people will come up with their ""theories""

>he has been worsening the story of Kingdom Hearts ever since 358/2 Days.
KHfags LOVE that game, way to out yourself as a fake fan.

A fake fan would still be too much of a fan of that shitty series

Dumb faggot, he's saying it's a cliffhanger that will get answers later on.

Just like Kingdom Hearts, right? They have everything planned out in advance and totally aren't just pulling bullshit out of their asses, right?

>Even if calling it a remake is deceptive, it's more like a "what if" scenario or a sequel.
You can't just gloss over the fact that this was deceptive, it was an exceptionally shitty thing for SE to do and has ultimately turned this into a far bigger controversy than it would have been otherwise.

Die bitch

You have to have a distinct lack of integrity to take your buyer's remorse and convert it into devotion for this asshole. Nomura is a magnet for idiots who want to feel smart.

Reminder that if Yoko Taro had made a sequel and labeled it Remake people would love it and call him a madman etc.

Any publicity is good publicity. There are going to be hundreds of articles and videos talking about how amazing of a ruse it was, and an equal number complaining about having their expectations betrayed. Free attention for the next several games

>khfags will love it
I do, but that's because I'm a sucker for Nomura's middle school fanfics

Do you know what secondary even means?

Can confirm. 原作 means original story, as in the original game.

Can you give me a quick rundown on his style of storytelling?
Who are the time jannies?

Ah, you're a subhuman retard who thinks KH3 was good. That explains the random angry outbursts when people point out what a hack Nomura is.

So if Zack lives then how does Cloud get the sword? Is Zack just currently out there somewhere, fucking about? Why does killing time jannies retcon things as opposed to only effecting the timeline moving forward? Rather, why does it only keep characters fans are fond of alive, rather than say retracting what the jannies did and doing something like keeping some AVALANCHE members and Zack alive but killing Barret? It just feels so disingenuous when it goes out of its way to do something like that.

Because he would've used meta elements tastefully

Gamers smell like shit anyway so it doesn’t matter.

Spoiler-proofing has gone too far. Our culture is so obsessed with shock and the destruction of the norm that we don't even know how to tell a decent conventional story anymore.

>So if Zack lives then how does Cloud get the sword?
He lives in the parallel world.

Really? Did he kill Sakaguchis mother? Fucking retard.

A lot, and I mean a surprisingly large amount, of later shit is subtly hinted at as far back as the first KH game. You wouldn't know to look for it then but that's because it isn't the focus at the time. It's not as made up on the fly as people meme it to be.

Jesus fucking christ, he is credited because his idea to make aerith the only dead character was money, that's it.

Not him, but Nomura really likes stringing the audience along with intentionally vague villain monologues and cliffhangers. Some people dive in because they're super invested in the mystery, other people zone out because they sense it's artificial and manipulative. Opinions on him soured after KH3 was a flaccid ending to a decades-long series, convincing many that he only knows how to build up, and not pay off. In FF7R, changes to the original storyline are directly written into the story itself by having the characters kill the Time Jannies, who try to keep the plot identical to the original. FF7R ends on a cliffhanger suggesting they may or may not rewrite the rest of the plot

If Toriyama was doing the story the game would have ended with Lightning crossing dimensions and joining the party.

Nomura also wants fans to share their theories with him for where the story's going.
No points for guessing he just wants to keep an eye on fan theories in case a popular one starts hitting too close to the script so he can rewrite it if needed.

That's FFVII in four or five days.

>You can't just gloss over the fact that this was deceptive
I guess save points ruined the FF7 narrative. Clearly me getting a game over to the demon wall in the Temple of Ancients was the REAL ending, me reloading the save and moving on to the next disk was garbage fanfiction by that hack Nomura.

it's about as stupid now anyway

FF7 doesn't have a precedent for multiple endings and universes.
