I was actually just playing it today.
I rage quit pretty early on one of the forest levels where you have to ride floating platforms above water and fight these tough guys that throw bombs at you in a small space.
Just kept dying and eventually ran out of healing items.
What hats should i upgrade?

The 50 different difficulty levels that just amp up enemy stats was a bit much, though.

I never really upgraded my stuff, I just kept going. I don't know the specific level you're referring to, but if you look up the level on Youtube, you could probably find a walkthrough (the game isn't that tough, I played it on normal)

It's pretty good, I'd recommend giving it a chance if you like those sort of 5th/6th gen action adventures. Has that certain soul to it.
