PS3 has been cheap as fuck since like 2014 and has been the best console to own since BluRay and Netflix became standard. Plus wireless controllers that are rechargeable and nonproprietary cables that you can find easy replacements for. Online is also free. It is probably the best console ever made.

The emulation for every PS2 game I tried was wank. Godhand runs at like 17 fps.
PS1 emulation was pretty good, but come on, you can run those on a junktop these days.

i have a slim, but the process is the same. ps2 emulation ranges from good to bad, since its purely software emulation on the slims, but you can make it better with config files. Mr. Mario on youtube has good tutorials for installing HEN on the ps3

Set display shit on normal in "game settings" on ps3 and "smoothness" to off, if I remember right, that way it should run without any framerate issues

The best model for HARDWARE backwards compatibility is always going to be the earliest model FAT PS3 with 60GB. I wouldn't get a fat model that doesn't have full backwards compatibility, but that's just my opinion. yeah you're good, that one still has some ps2 hardware in it so your ps2 games will run better than on a slim

NPS is really a hit and miss. Sometimes packages downloaded get corrupted and it's a pain to download and drag them on again.

I have a REBUG CFW that I've never had trouble playing online with but my PS3 fat might not last forever, even after repasting :/
If you're asking if you can play any PS2 game on your hacked PS3, if your console isn't the very first model that was hardware-compatable with PS2 games then your mileage will vary game to game, anything that relied on HW hacks like Jak and Daxter or R&C won't work but those games have been rereleased for PS3 anyway.
