After the news about a remake came out, I've decided to do a playthrough on Professional difficulty. Got any advice to make it through? I've beaten the game twice before on normal.

Godspeed bro.
It's not that difficult. Do the usually shot, melee, knife while on the ground approach to save ammo
Certain sections in the castle fucked me real bad. It turned out to be a lot harder than I expected. The game is long af too.
Which bosses should I use the rocket launcher on?
You can go through doors in several areas to update your continue-from-death checkpoint. For example, in the water room with Ashley, you can shoot the two crossbow guys, then turn around and exit and re-enter the room, and the crossbowmen will be gone even if you die and retry.
Every ammo type has a different cutoff point where it will not come from dynamic enemy drops. This counts your total amount of bullets: inventory + what's loaded the gun. Upgrading gun capacity will give you a full magazine of ammo, so if you hoard a lot of an ammo type while the gun is unloaded, you can stockpile a lot by then upgrading capacity. Doing this you can get enough magnum/mine/rifle ammo to quickly BTFO bosses.
People will say Verdugo, but he's easy if you kick him when he's frozen then use powerful ammo + a grenade or two. I always sell my rocket launcher.
Salazar is a total joke don't use it there of all places.
None dont be a pusspuss
I always use it on Verdugo like user said.
Seems the easiest to use it on.
Sell your magnum, use the cash you save on upgrades to buy a rocket launcher for whatever boss you want. Personally, I'd pick Krauser because he's the hardest on pro, Verdugo because that's the least fun fight, and the double gigantes because that's the second least fun fight. You can't skip U-3 with it, but it helps on the second half of that fight. iirc, each rocket launcher is only 15k, and you get one for free, so that makes the game fairly trivial
I don't know about you guys but the Regenerators always get me scared shitless. The game honestly feels like a real horror game.
I used to save it for Salazar just because of his OHKO move. But recently I did a knife/handgun only run, and realized Salazar is a joke.
>mfw Krauser without the knife cheese on prof
Krauser is a complete joke on all difficulties. Use the knife.
>RL on krauser >not knifing him 6 times in the shins
>implying RE3 doesn't shower you with ammo
This. 8 magnum rounds plus a few rifle bullets is more than enough.
Hell, there's even tutorials online to beat him with just knife.
Oh shit, I can't believe I forgot about that. I even knifed him last time I played through lol
Is it really cheesing him?
Yeah, try it.
Fight goes so damn fast and he gets staggered by every swing iirc

Meant to reply to
Felt the same way the first time as a teen. Friends had my attention so I missed the scope and had the whole room shitting their pants in the dark til it met the mine thrower.
I never played RE4 when it came out but I wish I had. I tried to go back and emulate it with dolphin a couple years ago but the controls just felt so dated that I had a hard time getting into it. The smoothness of modern games controls has spoiled me. Tomb Raider 3 was one of my favorite games when I was in middle school but now I can't play that shit for even five minutes with its tanky fucking bullshit.
Literally stun locks him. If you have proper timing and can back him up to a wall so he doesn't backflip away, then he'll be lucky to hit you once.
I thought PC was BESTO version
Wii is best version tbqh
>cheater version
Its not much harder. Any advice you can get in normal will still apply to professional
What's the merit of difficulty when the somewhat easier version is outright more fun?
>be me
>sold the rifle because it was pretty much useless and only occupied space in storage
>reach the lab and a note tell me to use the scope on the rifle to find the plaguas
Welp, shit. I am fucked
>proceed to run and blast the arm and leg off randomly hoping for the best
You can eventually kill them with sheer damage but its a huge waste of ammo. Or you can memorize where all the zits are
Does professional keep the dynamic difficulty? I know this game removes mobs and enemy if you die, to make it easier
>I know this game removes mobs and enemy if you die
I don't believe you
Can you explain? Is it because you can move and shoot?
As far as I know there's no dynamic difficulty on professional because it's always cranked up to max.
Nope.
Aiming is just much easier, which makes the game easier.
But I always liked to aim with the wiimote, more than with a mouse so I liked that version more.
>rifle is useless
The semi-auto rifle is the best weapon in the game nigga it literally one hit kills every normal ganado type with a headshot even at base damage
>tfw I did the same thing like a retard
youtube.com
It's true.
I read about it years ago, but I just found this video explaining what changes. Only affects Normal difficulty iirc
Professional always keeps it at max. Speedrunning the game is actually easier on professional than Normal because the AI is always predictably aggressive
The BAR does more damage than the SAR though.
I don't remember exactly why I sold it, probably when I got it the first time I still had the base suitecase and needed space, also it fell short compared to the shotgun/gun. But it was first playtrough, so I fucked up a lot
I did this first playthrough and you can actually get by the shutters by juking them and stunning them
Significantly lower DPS and you're leaving yourself incredibly exposed having to cock the bolt after each shot. Like I said, rifles kill almost everything in one headshot anyway, so rate of fire is king
My advice is to use it on the second Giant in the castle stage, you'll have to fight two at the same time that way you'll get the reward. Don't use it on the Verdugo, as soon as you hit the switch run to the shutter to let it close and then start avoiding the Verdugo or freeze it right away and kick it then shoot it with as many maxed firepower broken butterfly shots as possible. I usually get in 5 at a time. Do this for every nitrogen tank and he should go down when you shoot him like 14 times. Just be careful around doors they'll slow you down if you have to open them.
The two clawed warriors before you face verdugo can be taken down with the broken butterfly just don't max out the capacity until after you go through that part. You want to have at least 16 magnum shots for the Verdugo.
The problem is you lose your sight after each shot fired, the enemy won't always stay still for you to shoot where you have to. That's the biggest disadvantage.
