is this anyone else's first video game? My dad was a hardass and thought that this was the only game worth buying with a PS1 when I was like 6. Yea just be aware these are "budget" titles especially the first one which was meant to be on handhelds first. Second one is a little better but still doesn't feel like a traditional RE game.

Yes. Especially if you like the post game raid mode.

I believe they require you to beat elements of the raid mode so it could be challenging by yourself. Expect to grind a lot in both games.

REv1 is spookier than REv2 but REv2 is the better horror and game. Raid mode is the reason I have 200+ hours in REv2.

They are worth playing through for the story if you get a good deal. The first one is fucking weird. 2nd one actually has elements you should probably be aware of because they show up in other games mainly the last boss

I imagine the whole raid mode thing will remain exclusive to the REv series as they know it's a big selling point. Brighter note is that it will probably include stages from REmake 2 and 3 like how REv2 had RE6 stages.

The second one is especially worthwhile since you get to play as based Barry for half the game.

I just want a raid mode with matchmaking and being able to party up with friends. Make Revelations 3 with the same remake engine and give us this. Revelations 2 was so retarded being on next gen consoles but having couch coop and not multiplayer coop
