You will never reproduce the environment or the games which is why people will never buy them. You would need a game with an ESRB warning telling all the idiots that the publisher is not responsible for online interactions like they used to. You would need to lay off screwing with people for what they say. Custom servers instead of matchmaking cancer. No hero or ult bullshit. Even if you managed to deliver on all of that you would also need to region lock it to NA and EU as we did not have the international cancer back then.
Only a very small number of people can tolerate autistically practicing some inane bullshit 24/7 just so they can circle around a map efficiently. It's the same idea with fighting games and RTS. It just doesn't sell anymore.

Quake 3 already made the bunny hopping easy, instead of not using W and jumping while strafing and moving your mode you just hold W and keep on jumping. Same in painkiller, just hold W and keep on jumping... Aparantely even this is too hard for the new wave of players. I don't know why that is, all I can say is that it sucks, I'd love to have a new game with this kind of gameplay

it did, you probably played on some modded quake 3 servers or cpma. Vanilla quake3 is like painkiller, hold w, jump, get speed. Even in the op video you can see how limited his air control is. This is pure quake 3 vanilla physics

What movement tech did tfc had ? they capped bunny hopping in 2000 or so together with half life and counter strike. Rocket jumping is the same as in tf2 (details are different but that's just because the engine physics are slightly different) and you had extra grenades you could boost from. I think his example is fair, what other modern game has this kind of rocket or sticky jumping ?
Bunny hopping and grenades were a huge part of TFC. Medic was arguably the best flag capture class due to concs.
