I doubt Gordon has had time to be depressed. Remember that to him, the events of Half-Life 1 & 2 have taken place over the span of less than a week. He's probably been running on pure adrenaline the entire time.

The HEV suit is only for defence and and gadgets (flashlight, boosters) while everything he does is just beating aliens with a crowbar (With not mich damage) and shooting them with guns. He is just a gifted Warrior, which van be explained by bis high intelligente.

No. It's a video game. Medpacks dont work like they do in games and batteries don't protect you against bullets. Realistically he could last until the soldiers show up and then he'd get clipped.
