Tactics Ogre

So why the fuck has there not been a successor to this of Final Fantasy Tactics? The games were beautiful and had wide range support. They were pretty simplistic in terms of core gameplay (not including all the stats, status effects)

Also i'm almost through the law path (in the hanging gardens rn). I got the apocrypha sidequest set up but I'm hesitant to actually finish it because I want to have all 4 of the shaman sisters in my party before I finish it.

Is that One Vision mod any good? I see it shilled a lot on Gamefaqs but I can't find an actual changelog of what is added and tweaked. I don't find the balance of the game too wonky besides Archers being overpowered and rune fencers being dogshit

I've only ever played the One Vision mod and it seems like they tried to make everything viable.

There's also a pdf somewhere with all the changes. It's a lot.

Keep in mins the description is only the latest changes. I haven't found the pdf with everything yet.

There you go. Pdf is 48 pages of changes, and in pretty sure it's still ongoing.

There was one. TO:The Knight of Lodis.
It's actually fantastic, but it's a gba game so.

sadly its a dead genre bro

But you would think in the age of Kickstarters someone would make a clone of this.

There was something like that which touted to have Matsuno on board, but it turned out to be a huge scam so it's unlikely he at least will be involving himself in anything like that again

So what's the word on the Apocrypha sidequest? Should I wait until NG+ to get all 4 of the sisters because i'm autistic like that?

almost all kickstarters are a scam, lets hope Matsuno does another game, there is a trpg digimon game coming out

>pretty sure it's still ongoing.
It is, and out of curiosity, I asked the creator what his plan was for 1.0. He said that he wants to update all the story battles (postgame too), and I think he said he was near the end of the Law route. So it'll be awhile.

It doesn't really matter IIRC. I'm pretty sure as long as you have 1, you'll get the shaman classmark. Also, you'll have to savescum for the apocrypha spells, but once you have them, you can teach them to whoever at any point.

you'll welcome to join

The average person can't into the genre and the average dev can't put enough spice in new games to make them stand out.
If you like the genre try out Stella Glow on 3ds, it's not as heavily detailed as TO, especially the psp one, but it's still a good game.

>Stella Glow
I'll give it a whirl. A quick google search says it may be too anime for me to get invested in. To me the appeal of the games was also due to the combination of beatiful art and an engaging story. This looks like they used fanservice to cover gaps in the plot. But I could be wrong

The plot is fairly standard as far as jrpg plots go but it does have it's charm and it grows on you. It has some light humor and a bit of fanservice but for the most part the story takes itself seriously. Do note that you will not be able to do every character's personal stuff on the fiest sitting, it's meant to be done in NG+. You can also skip almost every cutscene and dialogue by pressing start.

Another game I'll recommend if you haven't played is Jeanne D'Arc on psp. Great game with a cool story inspired on the real events but with added fantasy. Really like the skill mixing in this one.

Unsung story was set to be released 2015, 5 years and different dev team later its still nowhere near done.

Fell Seal Arbiter's Mark is a pretty solid FFT clone. Visuals and story aren't amazing but the gameplay is pretty great. It has that customizability I love about FFT.

There is Mercenary Saga 1,2,3. i only played 2, or 1, I don't remember. It's a bit simpler than TO:LUCT, but it is fine enough. And the named classes have their set class with sub-classes . ala Secret of Mana 3.
It's a shame that is is so plainly written and the characters have as much charm as wet paper. It's so barebone in terms of character and story.

Also, Ozma is best girl. Ravenss is cute too, but it's hard to compete with someone deals damage by taunting their foe

Check out Banner of the Maid on steam, it became available in english in feb.

Here's your successor, bro.

Trpg's aren't completely dead. There's always new fire emblems and Xcom sometimes.

and

Is this actually good? I saw it was a mobile game so I wrote it off.

It's gacha.

>Ozma
Think you mean best witch Deneb my boy. The damage she can do by just insulting her foes is hilarious, to the point where it's actually a viable way to build tp without items. Magic time is also great just for the little animation.

Of course it is. Wasn't there already another final fantasy gatcha. How can they sustain so many.

It's decent as a mobilegame and there is a campaign. Better trying it than asking

people like who have more money than taste or standards or better shit to do

Bump for underrated genre

The world is full of good goys, that's how

i didn't spent any real money in this game so far, just clicked some jewvideo while doing something else.
