I was gonna play XCOM 2. I dont have War of the Chosen installed, is it necessary to play? Also how long is the average playthrough?

Is there a mod I should play or should I play UFO Defense without mods. Also is there a guide wich explains to me how thinks work instead of me pressing buttons in the hopes of achieving anything.

Open Xcom is an open source mod that adds a ton of quality of life improvements without changing the core experience. Try that first. If you want to full on gameplay mods you can try xcom files or you can check their site for a mod list.

basically seconding Play the original with OpenXCom and see if you dig it / cut your teeth a bit. If you find yourself loving it, try finishing then grabbing something like XComFiles or XPiratez.

X-COM is the least rng reliant game out there. It has a volumetric terrain implemented meaning what you do is what you get

openXcom is the only way you could run the thing on modern hardware so you're forced to get that. check

Open XCOM at other anons said. Try to learn from each encounter and don't rage quit like a faggot. A useful tip to avoid getting fucked like OPs webm is to end your first turn without opening the door. Enemies start with full TUs and can take a reaction shot. When possible try to stun aliens and take away their toys before they wake up.
