the point of the game is to stop the city turning into chaos and everyone turning on eachother, also the aliens were mindcontrolled slaves so it's not really a great analogy. At least it wasn't a food analogy though.

For 10 dollars, sure. I fucking love me some Xcom, but I think the lack of permadeath, and not being able to create my own characters will kill a lot of replayability for me.

My favorite thing about Xcom is being able to create my own ultimate autism crossover that forms vastly different stories every time I play.

I agree with this . For ten dollarydoos I'll definitely pick it up.
But removing shit like permadeath and customising your squads screams "cheap spin-off", which I suppose is exactly what they advertised it as.
Either way, it's just a playground for the devs to test new mechanics for Xcom 3 and get some feedback. No reason not to check it out

This game was made in response to it, and is a cheap way to try and retain some of their fanbase. Coincidentally, Gears Tactics comes out a few days after Chimera Squad.

Assassin almost ALWAYS has Shadowstep when I play. Fuck that cheap ass cunt, I have to literally sit there and wait for her to down or kill one of my units before I can react, and then after my turn she goes invisible again, repeating the process.

Gears tactic also looks very overpriced . 70 dollars for a game? Even XCOM 2 was only 50 at release.
