Yes, but it it's definitely a whole lot slower than other rouge-likes in terms of going through runs and unlocking stuff. Though that comes down more to personal taste.

nuclear throne better

Definitely a switch handheld type game. I can't imagine booting this up on a TV or PC

Barely any content

it is incredibly good my brother

lol

Its like isaac if it was bad

*if it was good

God, imagine playing ironically this game without mouse aiming.

It's slower than Nuclear Throne, but more of a bullet hell than The Binding Isaac.
Pic related does roguelite/bullet hell combination better.

Ugly artstyle means I'll never ever play it even if the gameplay is good.

Same. Nuclear Throne's better.

You never see the character art in-game.

remember: never listen to Yas Forums

it's fun and has good humor
it's basically nuclear throne, but with art direction

but doesn't that mean not listening to you either?

It's very good! I have hundreds of hours on it on PC and Switch. Watch some videos, you'll see if it's for you or not.

Slow to start, gets good once you start unlocking weapons

>wasting a key on a mimic
LMAO what a retard

I played the game somewhat soon after it game out, and it incredibly frustrating. I like difficult games - I play Sekiro and Dark Souls - but the early versions of the game were hard AND repetitive. Weapons were so scarce for ammo that you felt punished if you used them in any situation other than a boss room. This meant you used your peashooter for everything, died a lot as a result of longer enemy fights, and played the same first couple levels again and again and again. And the shortcut system was meaningless, since what supplies they give you for using a shortcut are pathetic compared to what you manually pick up in Stage 1.

I heard that the game had many quality of life updates since then, so I've been meaning to give this another try. I want to like this game.

It's good, but has so many little inconveniences for the player that you should pirate it and never buy

I agree the release version was tedious as fuck, ammo drops are way more common now, and there's red ammo drops that give all your guns a little bit of ammo. The game got easier, but more fun as a result since you can actually use your guns. They also added some optional content that's harder than the main route if you're worried it's too easy.

What are your favorite roguelike/roguelite games? I own Risk of Rain, ETG, and Binding of Isaac but I'm looking for something different. Though after reading this thread I might retry ETG. Maybe I haven't gotten far enough in it to have more fun.

Try DCSS if you want to try a "real" roguelike, it's fairly easy to get into once you get the control scheme. If deckbuilders count as roguelites, One Step From Eden and Slay the Spire are both great.

Binding of Issac with guns and shoot-em-up/bullet hell style bosses. Much like Binding of Issac, survival is more about learning how to avoid taking damage than exploring or choices in combat like your standard rougelike/rougelite.

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead.

Its good with many interesting weapons, but playing a run takes too long with most rooms having nothing interesting. The first floor takes 10 mins before you get to the boss. Its extremly difficult because of some dumb shit like traps that are hard to see, eneimies who spawn right in front of you, shoot you from off camera etc.

Tl;dr
Not as good as people claim on Yas Forums
Isaac is a much better game
Nuclear throne is more fun but has less content.

literally based

This is the truth

It's one of the few games I've 100%ed. All unlocks and after that all achievements.

Imagine Nuclear Throne, but slow

This.

I agree with it being a tad too long, but
> eneimies who spawn right in front of you
There's a very visible indicator of where enemies will spawn.
The game itself is not THAT difficult, i consistently get to the last level and i consider myself to be average at it.

>Isaac is a much better game
Overall I agree with that statement, but EtG has a far better late game than BoI.
Over half of the challenges in BoI are horrible, and both Keeper and The Lost are a pain to play as.
Greedier mode is also absurdly luck based with most characters.

EtG is way more fair; once you get good pretty much every run is winnable.

What a condescending faggot. Remind me who he is again so I know not to buy his game, I know it’s probably some dev for nuclear throne because of the reply but still.

I couldn't care less if the dev fists kittens as a hobby, NT is still better.

Best song.
