Why does Final Fantasy 7 Remake have so much terrible filler content?

Because that kind of content is easier to make

The game is awesome

It was okay, are you seriously going to be bitching about this?
When I played this part I know that some autist is going to be complaining about this on Yas Forums and I hate to be right when it comes to these things.

Calm down.

Go watch a fucking movie if you think everything not directly advancing the story is filler.
Games are meant to be this way. In FF7R's case the engaging content during this downtime is party dialogue, so don't pretend there's no drive.

You first.

cus it's a 10/10 games best game of the year and history.

9.3/26 recurring of course
not enough time jannies

FF7R practically is a movie. 12 hours of cutscenes LMAO
Why can't the dumb gook nips stop shitting out low effort cinematic experiences?

I'd simply prefer that be in a cutscene that I can skip in a second playthrough than having tredge through holding forward on a analog stick for 20 minutes with one or two battles inbetween

The only filler is the sewer in Chapter 14

Plus the train graveyard, every sidequest, and most of hojo's lab

Train Graveyard isn't filler, sets up Aerith stuff for later
Side quests are optional therefore not filler retard
I forgot Hojo's lab that was bad

>Train Graveyard isn't filler
yes it is

Because it's coming off an original that was only 10 hours. I actually really like what they've done with the remake so far in turning Midgar into it's own game. I think for most people it's going to be impossible to avoid anything extra feeling like filler since people are already accustom to the original pace of the midgar section.

Why does Midgar get longer every estimate I see on here? It's half that length at the high end.

>WAAAAH THE GAME IS GIVING ME MORE STUFF TO DO! I WANT EVERYTHING EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL, AND PLAY THE SAME GAME THAT I'VE BEEN PLAYING FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS!

Because the PS1 Final Fantasy VII game is too much game to fit into a game, so they had to add more stuff to fill up all the extra space they had because there wasn't enough game.

This. I'm really excited to see what's going to happen next, and that wouldn't have been possible if they kept everything the same.

The problem isn't too much content, the problem is too much garbage content. The original FF7's individual areas are actually pretty short, but there's so damn many of them and the pacing is pretty great for the most part that it works. The problem here is that Square Enix saw an opportunity to turn this game into a multi-year cash cow to milk for an extended period of time, so they decided to stretch out the first part of the game to shit. What they should've done was cut every area except for a few important ones in half, cut out all the slow walking and moving in between crevices, and extend the game out to Junon instead. There are a lot of really retarded unnecessary additions, like adding that Tifa climbing segment to the beginning of the Shinra building, and stretching out individual screens into full sized dungeons that go on way too long.

>When I played this part I know that some autist is going to be complaining about this on Yas Forums
Gee, I wonder why you thought that. Maybe because, no matter how hard you tried to suppress it, you knew deep down that it was shit?

the real big problem is how they keep introducing new ways to just move forward. gotta open a door? here's a tutorial on this door's system! we'll use it maybe 2-3 more times in this linear dungeon then drop it completely. here's another door and here's another tutorial!
annoying systems like that just kill motivation. arm section way annoying as well
>put aerith down in wrong spot
>no way to tell her to move 10 feet
>slowly bring arm down to pick her up
>TRY STACKING THE CONTAINERS
>pick her up
>TRY STACKING THE CONTAINERS
>slowly move 10 feet to other spot
>TRY STACKING THE CONTAINERS
>drop her off
>TRY STACKING THE CONTAINERS
>pick up container
>TRY STACKING THE CONTAINERS

Shut the fuck up tortanic faggot this game is irrefutably the greatest game of the year of the decade and will sell billions while you cope seethe and dilate.

Dude can you just be grateful they vastly expanded the world of Midgar?

Yas Forums is so entitled and disrespectful to game devs.

>no please don't point out any thing bad about the game just pretend it's flawless
the worst thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is perfect when it isn't.

game good

I can't only thing of two things you're referencing - the arm game (maybe 10 minutes overall counting getting side items) and the button presses prior to Airbuster (1 minute - 3 if you want into the disposal vault and is in the original game).

I mean there's nothing else that isn't as simple as hitting a switch.

To excuse charging full price for a tiny section of a game.

simp

even the weapon upgrade system feels like tacked on filler content designed to eat up more time than it should
>loud BWAAAAAHHHH when looking at a weapon
>have to go through multiple cores to find what upgrade you want
>when you do find it, it's in random order
>new materia slot is sometimes just a link
>no way to switch weapons quickly
>no way to see what upgrades you've gotten without opening and looking at each core
