Sorry to hear, OP. You probably tried already, but have you attempted to boot up your ps4 in safe mode? Turn it off completely (no rest mode). Unplug everything for a minute for good measure. Replug everything, then hold the power button until you hear a second beep a couple moments after the first. Plug in your controller cause bluetooth won't work, and if safe mode loads, then you'll have a few options:
- Restart the ps4 from safe mode (if it loads in safe, maybe this'll do)
- Update system software (in case some mini-patch came out for people like you)
- Initialize ps4
The last one will completely wipe all local data; It's essentially a factory reset. I recommend trying these options in this order if you can get safe mode to load. Good luck.

No worries tho. Found a fix. After I did this it booted normally and the update works fine.
