4/4 (DQV, CT, Skies, FF6) Good taste on Skies. Suikoden 2 is something I've been putting off for year but I was finally able to move my PSVita save to an emulator, so I'll be getting on it sometime this year.
Anyhow I'll humor you, OP. I'd make one myself but a thread this niche wouldn't get that many responses since people would just wanna post regular 3x3's so it'd probably 404 by the time I finish. So enjoy my greentext with some additional info on why I love them.
>Skies of Arcadia (My favourite game of all time, grand sense of adventure that I adored)
>Final Fantasy 4/9/12 (Can't pick between them honestly, all have great story, characters, world, OST etc.)
>Dragon Quest 3/5 (Same as above, loved the world of 3 so much, and the story of 5 is great.)
>Xenoblade Chronicles (Just a cool game all round)
>Lunar: Silver Star Story (Fun adventures that I loved, similar to Skies)
>Persona 2: Innocent Sin (Loved the atmosphere and music, as well as being a proto-Persona 4 really)
>Grandia (Same as Lunar)
>Pokémon Sapphire (if it counts, childhood game that gave me a great sense of adventure)
>Phantasy Star (My favourite 8-bit JRPG, from the music to the 3D dungeons, it's so fucking cool)
I don't play as many JRPG's as I should, but here's a list that I think are cool games mostly. Out of all the FF's and DQ's I played I can't pick which one is my favourite honestly.
Jeremiah Wood
Bentley Adams
What are the bottom three games and the game in the center?
Mason Peterson
I think center is smt dds,
bottom are ff6 - earthbound 3 - skies of arcadia.
I think
Ayden Martin
Middle is SMT Digital Devil Saga
Pretty sure bottom are FF6 and Mother 3 respectively, not sure what the bottom right game is
Joshua Perez
Caleb Gomez
I hope a Skies of Arcadia sequel gets made. There is so much untapped potential there.

Game is best played with friends on a couch. I'm told the girls who came over that one time and played it with me were attracted to me.

4/5 (+Nocturne, CT, Mother 3, FF6, - DDS) I found DDS super boring and never managed to complete it. The other 4 that I've played are good albeit safe choices.
5/5 (FF 4/9, P2:Is, Grandia, Gen 3, PS)
All good choices, I appreciate your fondness for adventure. I really should get around to Skies of Arcadia and Xenoblade at some point.
5/5 (+P4, VC, RH, DeSu, PM2)
P4 (and persona in general) is a game I have mixed feelings for but I'll give it to you since I've put hundreds of hours into vanilla and golden. That bottom row is pure kino.
3/3 (KH2, BoF4, P4)
See above for P4 but big bonus points for Breath of Fire. Really charming game and a super fun combat system when you finally get 6 party members.
Connor Watson
there's actually some good games there

Why KH1?
Thomas Lee
Yes. Problem with Suikoden is the fact it was a new franchise on a JRPG power house system from a developer not really known for JRPGs. I find it interesting the creator of Suikoden actually looked up to Front Mission for how all the games were set in a shared setting.

I genuinely like every game in my grid, but it is meant to prod people in these threads a bit.
Just applying what I've learenend from the master: Hideo Kojima

>Why KH1?
I personally love it’s story structure and how it wasn’t completely off the rails compared to the other games in the series. That and I miss stuff like Tech Points and environmental pieces reacting towards different types of magic, as well as the RPG elements that dictated what abilities you would go with for a majority of the run. It helped to keep things fresh.
Jaxon Williams
KH1 is arguably the best game in the franchise.
Lincoln Gomez
No
Jaxon White
Makes perfect sense. Never Land's honestly one of my favorite worlds in the whole franchise; same with Hollow Bastion. I personally prefer II and DDD, but I definitely get 1's appeal.
Landon Allen
Some say it would be KH2 for its combat but I feel like KH1 is more of a complete package, if that makes sense. It has a great sense of charm, lovable characters (not the other games are lacking in this regard), cool little details when it comes to the level design in the worlds, great risk-vs-reward mechanics in the form of the Tech Point system, etc...
It’s just a very well done game, honestly.
Dylan Parker
Thanks man. KH1 ain’t perfect but I feel it does the things it sets out to do really well.
Cooper Powell
Like says, it has the most coherent story, probably the biggest point in tits favor, and like he says the tech points and environment interactions are unique to KH1.
I like the platforming and puzzles, and even the jank Gummi ship. It's hard to put into words, but KH1 has the most pure adventuresome feel.
Some of the other games are good, or do good things, but I don't think any match the bar set by KH1.
>but I feel like KH1 is more of a complete package, if that makes sense.
Yeah this
I remember reading somewhere that Nomura wanted to make a game like Mario 64, to which Square said "how the fuck we compete with Mario" and that's the real story of how Disney was brought in ... but that Mario 64 spirit is kind of in the first game, and it's one of the things that gets polished out of the later games.
