Just finished ff7 remake. It was great, amazing, perfect. I loved the new characters and story bits, I thought it was perfect.....Until that FUCKING ENDING.

Saving avalanche from dying was fine but now aerith and zack are going to live? WHAT THE FUCK That fucking ruins the entire story of the original. I loved the original mostly because of the story and clouds inner struggles with the loss of his friends and memories. But now they are going to fuck it all up by keeping them alive. Their characters were so amazing BECAUSE THEY SACRIFICED THEMSELVES. Now theyll just become forgettable party members. If they take out Tifa saving cloud in the lifestream im seriously going to fucking shoot nomura. They take out the best scene in the entire game I will flip shit. I loved this game but watching that ending was like watching my old lovable dog get shot in the head with a shotgun.

That my entire problem with the ending dumb fuck, is that it isnt the original. There shouldnt even be any timeline shit in ff7. The whole theme of ff7 and all its installments is coming to terms with the past. Not using timeline shit to change it.
But the shitty padding starts near the beginning of the game so how was it perfect until the end?

It also removes the problem of world map and non linear gameplay. They can just replace it with an adventure of the week style story following Zack and Aerith. Then revert back to the OG story when it becomes a bit more linear again.
But Zack+Aerith/Cloud+Tifa has always been canon.

Thanks I already posted this is another FF7 thread, but I miss turn base and fucking want it bacm, the game demands you hold down block or you die, evade hardly does shit with the huge hit box on your characters have. Spittling my group pissed me off, forcing me to readjust my materia every damn time. Barret became my favortie after I get Big Bertha and I can just spam his ability to mass fire. Story wise I had no real clue what was going on, but what I put together myself is that they entered a time shift, and thus next game will now play out similar to the original. They are just trying to swerve people into thinking Aerith wont die, and they will make everyone fall in love with her again. I dont think its utter shit, and will get the next installment, but FF has become a button masher, and it makes me sad.
