If you want to have a competitive game you can't have fucking Overwatch abilities. It's just conceptually retarded. Cypher and Sage have literally no place in a game like this and the fact people unironically think this game is going to dent CSGO in anyway are hilarious.

its DIRECTLY made to steal CSGO players, so much so they are using popular and talented csgo players to shill it. Who would of figured that these guys would enjoy it when it mimics the same gun mechanics they've been used to for nearly a decade.

it'll fail to bring in OW players because the gameplay is unforgiving which is the main draw of OW, Devs don't understand that low TTK isn't mainstream for the modern casual audience.

It'll probably have a big launch and fade away after a year when the CS guys get bored of it.

You could say that, feels a lot more lenient than CS:GO in a lot of ways, some of which I really don't mind.
Being totally locked in during the buy period let's you actually get into position for a play instead of, oups I got awped through mid when trying to go to B sight.
You actually get to get set up for a play which I'm all for.
Feels like much more weapons are viable than in CS:GO.
Obviously I'm not saying you can only play with an AK, M4, and AWP but that's the 9 times out of 10 safe bet with weapon picks.
I've been experimenting with the buy menu and I've been able to get triple kills with the cheap SMG and even the shotguns.
It feels like the AWP is still powerful in Valorant but it's not the be all end all like it is in CS:GO.
If you're moving even slightly with the Operator the recoil goes haywire and it shoots anywhere other than your target, you need to be full, dead stop to get that shot off.
Not a HUGE change but you need to be totally planted, essentially giving the opponent more of a chance to react instead of just being totally eradicated.

I really don't have much of an opinion when it comes to abilities, I've only played two heroes so far, but there's some neat things I do appreciate.
Hanzo man let's you choose how many bounces your arrows have, abilities that breach walls R6: Siege style, movement abilities.
Characters aren't lumped into attack/defend/support like Overwatch, each character is essentially a playstyle and I can get behind that.

I've only had the key for about 12 hours but I enjoy it more than I thought I would.
You wouldn't be wrong if you called it a more lenient CS:GO, but the gunplay feels good, sound design on the weapons is spot on, and it does more than just copy and paste CS:GO and it's mechanics verbatim.
There's some nice lessons learned from that game and some well appreciated quality of life with the mechanics.
I give it a pretty good but probably going to become garbage from nonstop updates like OW /10
