I'm just getting into the Resident Evil series so I'm looking at all the games that I have to play... 7 seems a big nono.
Not only it is in first person but, where are the zombies? where is the connection to the plot? It feels like another horror game in a haunted house, having at the ending one dude named Chris Redfield who looks nothing like him and an umbrella helicopter doesn't mean it ties up.
But looking it up, everyone loved it? Jesus christ. For me, it goes into the list of games that I'm going to pretend don't exist, along with Dead Rising 4.
RE isn't a zombie game since IV you sound like a fag, cool blog post though
Kayden Hughes
> feels like another horror game in a haunted house Just because something is not very original, doesn't mean its bad. Execution in RE7 is great and come backs to its roots. >Chris Redfield who looks nothing like him Chris almost always looks different every game.
Look dude, I will give you a pass because you say are just getting into RE like you said, but please don't be that type of faggot that thinks he's big fan and has something to say because he played all games on Wikipedia console.
William Walker
You have to understand, this came after RE6. Fans were starved for the series to go back to anything to do with horror. I'm not saying RE6 is bad, per se. I enjoyed that game but I like action games in general. It was very mediocre graphically and was not scary in the slightest though.
Dylan Nelson
>Fans were starved for the series to go back to anything to do with horror. Even then I still don't get it. Like the first couple hours of the game are great, but then it eventually just turns into shoot the identical black goo monsters
Landon Reyes
RE6 was a bad game that was all over the place but I would be fucking lying if I didn't have fun with it. Especially Chris and Piers storyline with was pure manly suffering on roids 100% kino
Carter Davis
It's a pretty shit game. Only worth 1 playthrough
Andrew Perez
it's shitty, only zoomers like it and unfortunately zoomers populate Yas Forums
Connor Morales
Who the fuck cares if it doesn't have zombies, its literally the only Resident Evil that manages to be the slightest bit scary and that makes it better than rest in what is supposed to be a horror series.
Nolan Rogers
It went back to 'pick shit up, spin it around and take the key out of it' and tried to set some actual atmosphere instead of being a third person shooter with a few jumpscares. Sure it had its flaws but I still enjoyed it way more than RE5 or 6 and even 4, which I hated after leaving the village.
Nicholas Sanchez
>where are the zombies? In re 0 1 2 3 and CV >where is the connection to the plot? Near the end >It feels like another horror game in a haunted house And? >having at the ending one dude named Chris Redfield who looks nothing like him Chris changes appareance with every game
What a shitty thread, at least i'll give you credit because you openly admitted you didn't play the game, unlike the average Yas Forums poster
Thomas Mitchell
Ethan deserves death, Leon and Chris are way better than that faggot.
Molded are honestly the most zombiel-like monster RE has had in years.
Kevin Lewis
It doesn't turn a straight up shooter until the boat section and that's the ass end when most people think the game becomes dramatically weaker. But the first 3 quarters are amazing.
Adam Martin
I haven't played it in a while but doesn't it only turn into a shooter when you reach the ship and mines? A majority of the content isn't shootan though I will agree that they aren't very much RE either. Right? That game had so many flaws and looked like ass even when it first released but holy fuck did I have a blast playing it. It's the same feeling I got when I played Matrix Path of Neo or any of the Just Cause games.
James Morris
So that means that you retards love it cause its a return to formula, yet its still a shit game. yep that sounds right
Thomas Gray
Nigga there's not even a ng+, there's nothing you keep after a 1st run cept your shit Alfred gun.
William Carter
It was a good game but definitely bad if we're talking about an ideal RE sequel. Again, though, like I said it came after RE6 so any return to horror made it a good enough sequel in the end.
Joshua Myers
Didn't they add in something akin to that afterwards though? I remember there being some sort of menu where you can use points to buy weapons and those coins that boosted your stats for a new playthrough.
Alexander Martinez
I dont get it either user. I thought this game was some kind of horror holy grail, but goddamn it was just a boring "Wait till they leave and go go go!" shitfest.
Aiden Bailey
Japanese third-person action shooters are fuckin great actually. Love me some Vanquish, Binary Domain and RE6.
Owen Gray
The stat coins you buy with your own money so fuck that and the weapons you unlock dont carry. So looking for those unlock coins is pointless cause you dont keep the gun at all in the next playthrough, which is beyond retarded because its not like they're in plain sight. You have to go look for them
Jose Howard
Why we have the same thread every day? Is either OP saying RE7 is shit or OP saying RE7 is great
Jaxson Powell
terrible bait
Cameron Sanders
Those examples, definitely, but they have some really abysmal ones too though mostly during the PS2 era. >The stat coins you buy with your own money so fuck that and the weapons you unlock dont carry Well that fucking sucks.
Oliver Walker
Remember when we all thought this game was going to be just a Outlast knock off and that Capcom only wanted to jump into the first person horror junpscare game badwagon and it ended up being a good game that came back to the horror and explorations rots from the firsts RE? That was a pleasant surprise
Ryder Reed
is it worth replyaing on madhouse?
Asher Davis
>no military training >yet could dab in most monsters and destroyed a family with superpowers Imagine not being a EthanCHAD
Connor Moore
>just military training >dab on literally godlike human-no-more beings and creatures with the size of a house.
Samuel Perry
I thought the same. Then I played it and it was great. Better than 4,5 or 6.
Ryder Evans
Why are you lying? You're not "new to Resident Evil," you're talking like a bitter 30 something year old long time fan who doesn't have anything better to do than nitpick new games and watch Michael Does Life.
Nolan Fisher
we are talking about resident evil user, not doom
Gabriel Hall
Yeah
Logan James
The overall plot of the resident evil games was unceremoniously killed in re4 with an offscreen stock exchange crash. The reason being code veronica didn't sold well so they needed a big change wich for some reason meant that umbrella would no longer appear. "Umbrella was finished" said Leon. How killing the company lead to a french castle in galicia with mexican mercenaries I still don't get it but apparently people enjoyed geting ammo drops from dead farmers. They obviously didn't know where to go from there so they made a new company for 5,Tricell. They still put the president of umbrella in a dlc mansion wich is what 4 was originally going to be and try to tie Umbrella with Tricell. The company Wesker was working for in Code Veronica wasn't Tricell btw, it was a nameless one, go figure. So for 6 you think it shouldve been this company or Tricell but apparently not, so they made NeoUmbrella. A company with a giant building and also a terrorist group, a clone of Ada, Illuminati shit, a different president... none of it made sense. No one liked it the family plot, old characters were not reused, old bows looked like they belonged to another game, the Leon Ada love triangle was repeated for the third time and it was too much. This is why seven is how it is. It shouldve been a separated game for all intents and purposes but the brand still sells so they just put an umbrella logo in the end and call it a day. Basically you now have 4,5,6 and 7 as completely untied games with no overall theme, and yet some people wonder how will they follow some story from 7 lol, the developers already forgot about it. Spinoffs like Umbrella chronicles, Dark side chronicles and Dead Aim are better successors to to mainline story than the last four games.
