Do you think Silent Hills would have been good if it wasn't abandoned?
Sad we won't have a horror game with Ito influence. I guess the closest thing we have is World of Horror.

Yes I think it would have changed games forever.
I love World Of Horror. I finished getting all the achievements today.
good compared to most horror games and the western silent hills? most likely
good compared to the original silent hills? fuck no, kojima cant into subtly and thats a fairly decent component of silent hill. if he wrote sh1 alyssa would be called "cursed childgirl" and if he wrote 2 james would be called "wife smothersman"
i still would have liked to see it come to fruition but i wasn't expecting Silent Hill 5
what is the THIS IS MY HOLE of video games?
>all the achievements today.
isnt the game incomplete?
Well, I mean the 57 achievements available in the current build of the game.
I honestly think it would have been amazing and we missed out on a fantastic game. I’m saying this based on what we saw in PT more than the big names that were involved in it though.
Yeah just to see what would've happened
>wife smothersman
anyone that says yes and think fucking normies like GDT and kojima would actually do the old games justice, has not played the old games and only PT.
I love the old game but I wasn’t expecting Silent Hills to be the same thing as them. However I was expecting it to be better than any other AAA horror game released in the past decade and considering the the awful state the genre is currently in I would definitely take that.
I mean, honestly, I liked PT as much as most people, but why do people assumed instantly that the game was going to be so good? The demo thing was interesting but I don't see any way of that mechanic being a full game, so either the game was going to be completely different, in which case we couldn't know how could it end up like, or it would be a very short and repetitive game. Kojima is not known for horror games, and neither is Del Toro, so I have no idea why people had so much fate in them because of PT.
>Do you think Silent Hills would have been good if it wasn't abandoned
PT itself was better than the originals when it comes to mindfuck and actual scares. They're very low in that aspect and more like horror grunge melodrama if you're into that.
I'm actually kinda glad Silent Hills died now that Death Stranding is out. Don't get me wrong I like Death Stranding, but I have the feeling the game would have been almost completely similar. Mostly walking around and then some monster comes by so you have to sneak, with none of the combat or puzzles that made Silent Hill what it was. It would have been like a less shitty version of Shattered Memories.
No, we've had this discussion dozens of times before. Kojima would have fucked it up with his retarded exposition and lack of subtlety. He's the worst choice for the series, it's better off dead.
PT showed they could come up with interesting horror ideas and execute them effectively. It serves it’s purpose perfectly as a playable teaser of what was to come. Of course the game wouldn’t be the same thing but the fact they made it proved they could do horror well.
>Do you think Silent Hills would have been good if it wasn't abandoned?
No. Anything you could have wanted with Silent Hills we got with Resident Evil 7, unless you actually wanted Walking Simulator: Silent Hill Edition.
>wife smothersman
I enjoy this.
Would Kojima have made the game have no audio at all?
This brings back memories of this demo called Ground Zeroes, but I don't know why. Surely the full game would have been fucken amazeballs, right fellow channers? Would have been "based" and "red piled" am I correct? haha. I would post that bojak man picture but I don't have any saved, I do apologize.
They already tried that with The Quiet Man, so of course Kojima would have aped the shit out of it.
RE7 was nothing like PT other than being first person. It had much more of a campy b-movie tone with the Texas Chainsaw and Evil Dead references. Also it was only good for the first half and then just turned into fighting an army of mold monsters for the rest of the game. I still like it but it’s a totally different thing.
You know this makes me think maybe Kojima Productions would be better off making shorter $15 games rather than full AAA ones. He seems to be pretty good at making decent small experiences.
>Texas Chainsaw
coincidentally a much scarier movie than any Silent Hill game and in a more subtle way too, with how it starts as a documentary that slowly gets more tripped out and unhinged.
are there any games with Ito influence?
any release date on the adult swim uzumaki?
Eh I disagree I find Texas Chainsaw more uncomfortable than scary. Then again I don’t really find any movies scary. Video games are scary because your the one in control, you actually have to walk through that door with the weird noises coming from it. You can’t just sit back as an observer.
>Video games are scary because your the one in control
I can't recall any that really took advantage of it and made you "shit your pants" which was Kojima's goal. All SH games start with tons of build up and then nothing after that other than the occasional Pyramid Head scare or the elevator scene.
Who are Hino and Tsubaki?
>Video games are scary because your the one in control
I disaagree, since you are the player, you know you're going to win by the end as you can beat whatever horror you have to face, you are in control unlike the protagonsit of a horror movie who's fate is dictated by the story.
Is true that the game can kill your character in the final cutscene, but is a cheap way of making you lose anyway, since you only lost because they took control from you.
They clearly repurposed some of the ideas they had for silent hills, in regards to the fetus and umbilical cord motifs, the invisible bt's, everyone having individual "beaches" connected to the afterlife, etc. Question is, how much of that is repurposed?
>I can't recall any that took advantage
No, wait I remembered now. I'd say Resident Evil Remake was very clever in how it fucks with the you if you experience it after playing the original to death. They've achieved something that's like an 80% different game from the original, yet looks exactly the same which felt fucking odd as hell to play.
I...ITS THAT?! A-A SPIRAL?!?!
OOOOH NOOOOO!!! I-IM GOING INSAAAAAAAANEEEEE AAAAAAAAAH!!!!
NOOO!!! INSANE!!! INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE!!!
I MUST FRACTURE MY BINES AND BECOME A SPIRAAAAAL!!!!
WHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLL!!!!!
what the fuck are you even talking about you fat spastic
>They've achieved something that's like an 80% different game from the original
Fuck off, retard. You keep raising the percentage up on every thread. I don't think you've played either.
If he was also writing the ending, it's no big loss.
>Scary thing happened, but then we walked like 10 feet and everything was fine
I have played them and the effect was notable. This runner put it into words better than I can.
