San Andreas, Vice City and RDR2 are good. I can live without the rest.

eh, I genuinely like Max Payne 3 and Grand Theft Auto III + IV, they need to get with the times though, pressing a button to Sprint is outdated as shit.

rdr1 was the usual cinematic cuckstar trash. their only good games were gta1, gta2, red dead revolver (basically made for them by prime capcom), and bully.

rdr1 is the most unplayable of all rockstar games
john literally moves like a fucking tank. absolute fucking garbage game. despite being a copy paste job from gta4 it didnt improve on any of its gameplay.

>Bully
literal trash, but ok.

>addicting and wastes times
That's just video games in general.

I never understood why these guys got so popular as a game dev
Their games all feel like the same cookie cutter style and the EXTREMELY bland stories don't help.
I feel like the only thing keeping them alive is teen kids fascination with killing hookers

Max Payne 3 is their best game and it isn't close. Its the only game they've made with genuinely fantastic gameplay.

>bland
If you don't feel like you're literally in the world of Vice City while playing it, you likely lack soul

never played vice city.
Doubt it would change my opinion much though

Bully is the only good game in that faggot user's contrarian list

GTA always felt too sleazy and trashy to me. It's like the microwave dinner of videogames. It's good but you also feel a little disgusted with yourself. At least Saints Row doubles down on the trashiness to give you a really wild ride. Best crime sandbox game IMO was Sleeping Dogs. Also really enjoyed APB when that was a thing, but that's a bit of a different flavor of the genre entirely.

>what is Vice City
Kiss my ass, chuckle nuts

I wouldn't go that far but I do think Rockstar games, while beloved for technology and atmosphere actually have pretty surface level open worlds for the most part once you get over it.

You can only steal so many cars and planes before realizing there isn't much to do. And I don't know a single human being that ever thought the fucking Yoga minigame in GTA V was fun.

Christ this board is laughably contrarian and incredibly normalfag at the same time. This is by far the shittest of the boards for popular art forms (/lit/, Yas Forums, Yas Forums) and that says a lot.

Pool in IV was pretty fun. So was golf in V.

>eh, I genuinely like Max Payne 3

GTAV was so close to being good in so many different ways but it had no fucking clue what it wanted to be and therfore didn't excel at anything

I played it for the first time last week and couldn't figure why people bitched so hard over the cutscenes. Most were incredibly short and the long ones were skipable. Plus they were entertaining. The gameplay was nothing short of amazing.

Yeah, most of their games have that one minigame that isn't shit but it gets old fast.

RDR and Bully are my favorite Rockstar games simply because it's probably the only ones where I liked all or most of the minigames and even then with Bully only the school mingames are decent while all outside activities are dull as sin.

>kindlephoto

they are adhd

fuck off fag, built was great

Did they add the option to skip cutscene? When it first came out there was no such option. Made subsequent playthroughs a slog.

Bob the Builter is my fav r* game

>GTA III
Revolutionized sandbox 3D gaming, popularized crime and 'fuck you do what you want' simulators. I give more accolades to this than Vice City or San Andreas, even if the latter two are more advanced. It earned its reputation.

>Max Payne + 2
While Legacy of Kain is probably the single most groundbreaking game when it comes to good narrative and consolefags, this gets points for continuing the trend. Quality writing and quality gameplay make these exceptional games even years later.

>Max Payne 3
Groundbreaking third-person shooter. The story's quality is debateable since it wasn't even written by Sam Lake, but to this day it has better gunplay than anything Rockstar has put out since. Somehow managed to be just as good in multiplayer as singleplayer too.

Max Payne 3 from what I here sounds like the modern equivalent of Sonic Adventure because whenever I hear people talk about they either say it's an amazing game or a awful game that killed the franchise.

RDR fucking blows. Zero content, repeating mission types, bullet time retardation. GTA SA is probably in the top ten of all time. RDR isn't in the top 300.

I have no idea what that means, the story is fine since it understands tone well enough but the gameplay is still the premiere for third-person shooters. Just pirate it.

Bullet time is fun

You're fun. Jerk.
