>2006
>Exploring with my older sister, doing random things for fun
>I still play now but by myself

Never.

I played Hellmoo.

i was 10
questing
ran out of quests

played a little in '03-'05 years but had no clue what to do or how to play so i barely did anything.Picked up OSRS on mobile for nostalgia and still dont really know what to do. Just been farming all my skills and did a few quests.

>2005-2006 at age 11
>Get all hyped for full mith
>Friends laugh at me
>Get scammed 3 days in
>Make alt account
>Get membership and build up
>Banned "permanently" for a year late 2006 because I did the dupe chair glitch and spamming "Selling weed" whilst trading it
>Unbanned 2007-08 because apologized
>GE and trade limit added
>HD RS2 looks pretty good at least
>They start to fix the game up by around 2010 to be interesting
>Dungeoneering is shit so ignore it
>RS3 comes around and it's garbage
>Hop back into OSRS in 2013ish when we finally graduated
>RWT for gold and grind for two weeks with friends
>Group questing/bar crawl first day
>People started breaking off of OSRS years in
>No motive to play because everything's either "muh efficiency" or watching bots do the work for others
The community is now dead, but it was one of the greatest experiences.

2006
I would mine a full inventory of coal in the Dwarven Mine and sell it at Fally west bank for 1k because I didn't understand how economies worked yet. I did this for like 5 hours a day for almost 2 years.
I still play from time to time.

Efficiency sucks, but the people that never type shit are the worse.

Grand Exchange turned the economy from a wild mystery ride with the lights off to a greased gpm machine.
I miss the old days where every player was pretty much an ironman account.

This I rarely ever traded back in the day miss those random bank sales

I started last week and stopped when i hit the pay wall

Did you finish all the free quests

2006
Chatting with people about random topics up until like 2011
2012, still play OSRS from time to time though.

>2008, right around when HD dropped. It was kind of fun when progressing and going around the world to see which areas and NPCs kind of missed the bus on the graphical updates.
>I mainly just trained combat and grinded money using horribly inefficient methods to get sick gear and do safe PVP with my friends. I was so scared to do quests that I never finished Lost City until months before I quit... I just grinded 1 mil to get a d2h instead lol
>Quit around 2011 because all of my friends quit around early 2010 and I needed to get more serious about school. I am waiting for group ironman so we can do it all again

>2005
>mining/cutting, doing quests, some pvp
>because Jagex ruined it

Forgot, one of my cousins introduced me to the game around 2006 but I thought that the early game was kind of boring and only picked it up again when all of my friends in junior high started picking it up. Kind of a shame I missed the 'golden' age but I was such a pussy about stuff like PVP I honestly wouldn't have liked it too much more lul

*I quit when Jagex implemented those changes to the wild and trading, don't remember what year it was

Played it in 2008 to 2010 but left because I ran out of free things to do and I realized membership was a scam.

How was it a scam?

Private server started on /vg/ to remake Runescape as it was in October 2007. Been up for years now, no donation perks/any other gay shit.

Are you me?

also here's a video of us playing castle wars on Yas Forumsscape, we have events like this semi-often. good way to interact with the community at large.

>2005ish
>mining
>I'unno

I'd played it on and off over the years until I was 20, I think. But now a not-close friend of mine has told me he's been playing, and he wants me to start playing again. It's been a long time so it could be a decent nostalgia trip.

It pisses me off how many long-term RuneScapers are proud of their "achievements"
Isn't it apparent that no skill is involved in this game, just time?

how to make botfarm $50k/year

>When did you start playing runescape?
May 2001, but the official join date of my account was bottlenecked into the first day membership existed like anyone else who registered before then. I played very on and off though, I only ever got to level 90 something with my highest skills being Ranged and Fishing in their 80s. Most of my time and enjoyment in the game came from Classic and being along for the ride as it evolved.
>What was your primary activity?
I was all over the place from random skills, to quests, to minigames like Pest Control/Castle Wars/Fist of Guthix. I did Dungeoneering a little while until I had enough tokens for the longbow sight and got bored of it. I didn't stick with anything for too long and I was never that into PKing or minmaxing efficiency.
>When did you stop?
Evolution of Combat and all new gear being weird gimmicks with degrading charges.

i want to say ‘05 or ‘06 stopped around 2011. had 99 fishing and range. my fondest RS memories are hanging out with fellow fisherman on the coast of Catherby.

who cares if it pisses you off though?

2005 I unironically roleplayed and leveled on the side
