I criticize it because I WANTED to like it. Believe it or not I didn't want this remake to turn out like absolute shit, but it did turn out poorly. It turned out to be a padded out corridor walking game, with excessively mediocre ARPG combat, and an extremely bastardized verison of the FF7 plot.
If they just made FF7 again up until the end of disc 1 at least, even with the mediocre ARPG combat they have now, the most people would be able to really complain about is the combat being mediocre, but thats about it. The REAL issue is when they fucked the plot HARD, and padded out a portion of the plot that never fucking needed to be "expanded" at all.
