I found out about Phil through the massive hate mob surrounding him yet now I genuinely like him.
When there are hundreds of people picking at your every flaw you are bound to look like the dumbest person on the planet and while obviously Phil is a flawed gamer in the end he is consistent.
You can always go to his channel expecting him to fuck up something or just be a goofball and it's honestly enjoyable content. The man is himself entirely and not fake like every other youtuber nowadays.

I've come full circle with Phil. I first learned about him when I was like 14 (I'm 22) and saw his Saints Row 2 playthrough, and I thought his stupid immature humor was fucking hilarious and I'd also laugh at how dumb he was. I remember genuinely finding the guy hilarious.
But then I forgot about him for like 5-6 years and stumbled upon a Sons of Kojima Let's Endure in college and recognized Phil's voice and whining right away. I'll admit I jumped on the anti-DSP bandwagon because I thought it was funny, although he was too much a bumbling stupid buffoon for me to take seriously enough to hate. Now that I see the depths that some detractors will sink to, I've relaxed a bit and just look at Phil for the ironic entertainment value he produces. The dude's a natural fuckup whether people are fucking with him or not. He's a gift that keeps on giving.
