I actually believe that Atlus or whoever was in charge of the translation actually saw how pissed people were online and decided to not actually go through with what was originally planned. Because what they were saying initially about changing the scene did not actually happen. It feels more in line with the more accurate (but bland) revamp of the translation like the rest of the game. ResetEra got duped and baited.
