>Dan Houser left >Kotaku article mentions Rockstar studio firing managers to get rid of "fratboy" culture >workers no longer pushed to be better >article mentions GTA 6 being medium sized game when compared to GTA 5 to avoid working overtime >it will be finished through content updates
>Former employees have testified to the Houser brothers' unhinged tempers, one even claiming that Sam Houser once came in swinging a baseball bat. The Housers deny all such claims, of course. SOUL
>Last year, after two Rockstar employees committed suicide (the two incidents were unrelated), Houser hired a spiritual healer to expel bad vibes from the office; he also brought in “traditional” grief counselors. BASED! Fuck modern therapists and psychologists.
>A variety of firearms are kept at headquarters, though all are allegedly just replicas BASED!
>Curiously enough, Houser considers himself a conservative man, with a wife and two young children Both based and redpilled
>While Grand Theft Auto IV was in production, Houser himself walked the city’s Russian districts as his research team grilled New York’s taxi and limousine commission for an accurate ratio of cabs to private vehicles. Based and passion-pilled
Without Dan and "fratboy" culture it will be a SOULESS and Ubisoft-tier like product. Beware and don't fall for the hype.
How so? GTA V is pretty much GTA San Andreas. The only thing I don't like is more linear mission design and lack of side missions.
Jayden Parker
You can't have soul after the 6th sequel anyway
Charles Jones
>GTA V is pretty much GTA San Andreas Kill yourself
Nathan Reed
Does the game really force you to intimidate him like that?

I don't think it happens if you accept his pamphlet.

GTA5 was hurt by how huge the map was. that aside, 6 will be shit, yeah.
Adrian Brown
Rockstar in general has been moving towards the cinematic game trend anyway. All of the fun shit you've been able to do in GTA in the past, was locked behind progression in V, and was, of course, monetized. You can't just turn on cheats and go at it, at least in the multiplayer. I expect VI to be even worse in this respect.
Oliver Smith
man in the suit sounds pretty based to me
Grayson Rivera
>article mentions GTA 6 being medium sized Yay... >to avoid working overtime Oh, nevermind... If they were saying medium sized as in map size, then that would be good. Condensing something like V into half the map would have improved the game immensely. Same problem that SA had.

>commiting suicide cause your boss Lol why. I was only fired once in my life cause my boss was a prick. I didn't give a shit about him. When I was told to clean my office I walked out smiling
Zachary Morris
Great. Maybe their games will be less shitty
Parker Morris
>Kills thousands of people in game But goodness, if someone says something racist! that's unforgivable!

>The only thing I don't like is it's not San Andreas at all

And this is news how?
They are though? How much are they paying you to shill?

He deserved to be fired though. Companies need to respect their employees and make sure that they feel safe.

Fuck off back to 2013 with your gamergate BS.

About it being medium sized, don't you think it means no online until some time after launch?
Brandon Evans
>Dan Houser Wasn't he the reason for all the SJW shit in RDR2?
I still can't believe they had a main story mission where you provide an escort and security to a woman's rights protest... in a cowboy western video game.
Dan leaving is pretty recent news. Considering GTA VI has been in development since V released, it's safe to say whatever contributions he had to the story and characters is already set.
GTA 7 is when I'll start to worry, but Rob Nelson has taken on a larger role with the last few games, so it might not be too bad.
Xavier Garcia
being a shit writer
Jonathan Howard
>>article mentions GTA 6 being medium sized game when compared to GTA 5 to avoid working overtime sounds like soul to me -- density > scale
Also, with Dan gone, that means we won't have any of that shitty, forced down your throat, satire that filled GTA V. Lazlow is a lot funnier than Dan, and he'll probably contribute more to the humor side of GTA now
next youll tell me that TLOU was the citizen kane of video games.
Jacob Lewis
this. their focus on online play is appalling considering their horrendous track record for online performance and bugfixing. There are bugs in GTAO that have been there since day 1 and have never been fixed because they actually help shark card sales by slowing down legitimate moneymaking. I've actually played a lot of GTAO because I'm retarded and I can say without a doubt that their business model is despicable. The fun warzone sandbox of criminals shooting each other and driving cars around died as soon as Rockstar realized they could get tons of sharkcard sales by making the game P2W. Every few months they add something even more broken and overpowered until the point where the original gameplay that made the game fun (guns&cars) is completely gone and it is now a futuristic saint's row battlefield with prototype military vehicles and flying motorcylces with missiles, pvp is awful and completely broken. There's a drone tank that makes the pilot invisible/invincible on the map while they ride around killing players with a futuristic lasergun from complete safety. when they're done, they return to the world right where they spawned(meaning that griefers can literally step out of their apartment, grief with complete invincibility, and then immediately go back into their apartment when they're done) There's literally an autokill bullet now that kills anyone on the map instantly for half a million dollars, which of course is easily abused by hackers with infinite money who can ruin any business sales they want from the comfort of their facility, all according to plan for Rockstar, who has done everything in their power to make legitimate moneymaking in this game as hard as it could possibly be. It's honestly disgusting. The game is infested with hackers on top of it, and Rockstar only cares about them if they start affecting their shark card sales. I'll probably buy GTA6 like everybody else, retard that I am, but I wont play online anymore
Colton Reed
Being so stupid you have to rely on a corporate amalgam to guarantee your safety at any given time isn't worthy of respect. No employer will ever respect an employee. That's why they have to pay you, because you're not a collaborator, you're a servant. Nobody gives a fuck that you operated the boom mic on Titanic, you're not James Cameron, you deserve a paycheck for holding a stick out of frame and are compensated for the risk that a piece of the set might fall over and kill you. Stop overblowing your importance by pretending your a necessity or a meaningful asset. You're replaceable, dingus. Until you figure that out and stop pretending your deserve shit just for existing, you'll never amount to anything more than an ant. Go fucking get me a cup of coffee so I can throw it in your face, numbnuts.

>>Kotaku article mentions Rockstar studio firing managers to get rid of "fratboy" culture Uh oh, sounds like good ol' Struass Zelnick is taking notes from every other CEO in the biz and purging the studio of their talent.
No but GTA writing was quite good. It's not Planescape, but it was funny and rode the line of cartoonish parody very well. GTA IV hit some decently dramatic scenes as well.
Good comedy writing is still good writing.

>lazlow user, I...
Ryder Walker
I've had fun with it while it lasted. GTAO sucks though I agree despite me playing it for tons of hours.
Lincoln Campbell
GTA has been soulless
Colton Jackson
Rockstar also has over 500 poojeet employees working as Rockstar India now. It's to skirt labour laws for the grind but also contributes to soullessness
Brandon Rivera
It was, but it had went to complete shit with GTA5.
