Stop being casual at anytime. 4 didn't come out until 3:SE was a thing, 5 didn't come out until 4:SE was a thing, and 6 won't come out until 5:SE is a thing. It's how the series has been handled since Itsuno took over and will continue doing so as it generates the most money with as little effort as possible.

the only reason that 4 even had an SE is because they wanted to test the waters for DMC5 and they also wanted to rerelease it for current gen consoles.

they've only done it once with DMC and that was because it was back in the PS2 days and DLC wasn't popularized (or even really a thing)

It's still possible that we get a DMC5SE. Modders have proved that Vergil is half baked, the dev team can quickly finish him if they only want to give him Yamato. I don't think they'll be able to pull off for 5 what they did for 4, so realistically we'd only get Vergil as a playable character. I know >Capcom, but that's not really worth a $60 price tag and if Capcom wants to continue making good moves they'd understand that. I wouldn't expect a DMC6 until the new consoles are out on the market.

Its been over a year, I figured an announcement would have happened by now. It being a release title for next gen seems unlikely as it'd get overshadowed. Maybe next year but at this point I'd rather just have DMC6.

How are they impossible? REmake 2 had alt costumes. REmake 3 even has a few alts.

Its not impossible but I guess they ran out of time and money for even alt costumes for DMC5.

Apparently Capcom were really tight with the budget for DMC5, it's one of the reasons they had to use real clothing because it was a lot cheaper than 3D modeling the outfits bizarrely enough.

Capcom have been screwy with DMC for years now. Its weird but maybe 5 has changed their minds. Especially as the groundwork has been done with the engine so they could probably get the same budget and do much more with it.

So StriVe is out now, which makes it all the more pressing to ask COMMUNITY EDITION WHEN

Nah, StriVe is the first fan-overhaul mod of the mechanics (unfortunately, it’s bound up in the Collab Cheat Table rather than a standalone).

It does a bunch of shit, some of which is great and some of which is questionable, but it’s all piecemeal toggleable so meh.
