I love how all of the people who have actually played and beat the game are coming out of the woodwork and blowing tortanic brainlets out of the water.
This game was an excellent time. Appreciation thread.

You sound like a Chrono Cross apologist.
I feel most of the hate surrounding this game is not directly aimed at part 1 itself but rather the implications that future parts will diverge massively from the original storyline.
BRAVO NOMURA
>Ghosts in the whole game
>Roach
>Sephiroth showing up all the time
>Ugly character designs ripped form AC
No this game was always turning out to be fucking garbage.
>Old fans hate it
>new players love it
Feels good not having wasted my time on the original back then.My first experience with the game was with amazing visuals, music and perfectly modeled waifus.
It wasn't though. The game was okay, but the story fuckery ruined it.
The more time passes, the more people will finish it and actually see how much they fucked up there.
>The game was okay
"No!"
This is easily the worst video game ever created. This "game" can basically be summed up as padding and filler.
They took 5-minute "dungeons" from the original Midgar and turned them each into hour-long FF13 hallways. Even worse, they inserted all new "dungeons" (hour-long FF13 hallways) in between story beats where the original FF7 would have just moved on to the next story beat. It doesn't add anything to the story or game world. It doesn't flesh out the original Midgar. It's not even fun. You just go down some glorified decorated hallways and fight three guys at a time for 30+ hours. This is not fun. This is not a game. This is a mindless, joyless, and a chore. I actually had to force myself to finish this awful slog.
The sidequests do little to break up the monotony--in fact, they amplify it. They are the most soulless, uninteresting MMO quests you can imagine. At some point I just stopped bothering with them because they add noting of value to this game. They are not fun or interesting.
This isn't Final Fantasy 7. This is Final Fantasy 13 loosely based on Final Fantasy 7. This game does not respect your time. Square Enix claimed that this remake was going to be episodic because the game world was going to be "greatly expanded" and "vast." Midgar is not expanded. It is padded. What happened here is that they decided from day one that they wanted to sell multiple games as "episodes," and then struggled to come up with filler content to stretch Midgar out to 30+ hours. And they couldn't even come up with anything fun. As I said, this is easily the worst video game I ever played in my life.
This is the most soulless, joyless corporate cash-grab ever created, it is a personal attack against video games as a medium, and it is a crime against humanity.
Drop dead.
how many threads have you started 7r-kun?
This game is fucking great so far. I actually felt emotions when district 7 was destroyed, Jessie and Biggs I didn't expect to die either but their final words were a little drawn out for people on death bed.
>district
Sector, unless they changed that too.
I know, it's fun to watch the manchildren seethe and desperatly spam their copypastas in every thread trying to maintain the narrative that the game is bad.
Like this one which I've seen a dozen times now in different threads. I wonder if it's just XV-kun doing his thing at this point.
Ahh yes it was sector, my bad.
I really loved the game, ending and all. The time jannies were the chekov's gun and the super time janny boss was the payoff. Better for nomura to rip the bandaid off than try to be subtle and give purist oldfags the benefit of the doubt about the story.
Midgar isn't dark, gloomy and depressing enough. Those moments when sunshine comes through and it looks bright blue and friendly are weird. Midgar doesn't look like that, not down there.
The music is fucking GOAT

this theme is way more epic than the boss deserved.
Shut up butthurt faggot. Go play the original.
Yeah man

Game is amazing. I can understand people who played original and their complaints about story. But most clowns here say stuff like "it's just smash square". Good luck finishing anything but rat fights by just smashing square, unless you play on pleb mode. Gameplay is amazing, music absolutely stunning. I was ready to be dissapointed about rpg elements, but they are better than most of new games these days

>Old fans hate it
Im an old fan and i love it
>LE JUST LE PLAY LE ORIGINAL
One of the dumbest arguments anyone could possibly make.
Just because I don't think everything about the remake is amazing doesn't mean I "have" or "should" go back to the original. Yes, I know that the original exists. Yes I like it, yes it will always be there and Nomura's time jannies can't change what's on my discs.
That doesn't mean I don't have the right to complain about this. The only reason this remake even exists is because FF7 has one of the most devoted and outspoken fanbases out there. Even among other FF games it stands out, it's the favorite of MANY people and it was made at a time when real 3D was still in its early days. Thus it is also THE best candidate out of all FFs when it comes to being remade with modern day graphical capabilities.
The fact is that this remake wouldn't even exist, it would have never been made had people not asked for it over and over and over all these years. Lots of people, constantly and everywhere.
In what world did all those people, hardcore fans of FF7, ask for such a radically different spin on it? That's not what they asked for. They asked for FF7 to be reimagined with modern visuals. Maybe new combat, maybe new side missions, more exploration, more dialogue and more fleshed out characters.
And here comes the kicker: We actually got that. Yes the gameplay is a point of contention as some are purist about turn based or at least ATB, but even I am okay with the FF7R combat, though I wouldn't say I love it.
They were so close to nailing it. But then Nomura, Nojima, Toriyama and Kitase felt the need to not deliver the original story more or less untouched, maybe just added onto here or there.
Instead they saw the need to do something completely fresh when it's the one aspect no one asked for freshness in.
And now we're dealing with time ghosts, we're dealing with Biggs and Zack being alive, we're dealing with alternate dimensions.
And this sucks.
sucks for you
>didn't even read
>got utterly btfo
>exposes himself as a brainlet
No wonder you defend the game and say dumb shit like that.
Bro just play the original and stop being mad at video games. You'll feel better, I promise.
>ll of the people who have actually played and beat the game are coming out of the woodwork and blowing tortanic brainlets
where are they?
All I see are waifu war threads.
Ok? The world keeps turning and the remake keeps going in a different direction than what you personally wanted. Get the fuck over it
I guess this one shit song is representative of the whole soundtrack?
I have no idea how to make a good materia setup, I have so many of the damn things to use and they are all hella slow to level up.
As expected. No arguments.
That about ends the "dude le original still exists" shit forever. Remember how hard you got btfo tonight.
