I don't remember anyone complaining about the netcode for NL even though it does the exact same thing, interrupting everyone's game when you join and making everyone save their game, and don't forget rushing to save after handing people items because you weren't sure if your connection was going to resetti any moment.
That was with 4 concurrent players and you had to add the host's friend code to visit them.

You're literally playing the game wrong if you run out of shit to do on a day and then just move the clock forward to the next day. You're supposed to set it down and do something else.

If you're out of shit to do you've literally got no one to blame but yourself, especially in the case where a lot of the seasonal content literally isn't even in the game yet.

probably because of the fact that even with less content right off the bat the new content, mainly terraforming, keeps you busy for a very long time. not to mention they will add more stuff in future updates. i'm not saying i'm crazy about them withholding things so they can keep you playing for months and months with free updates, but it is something to look forward to. and even without it most of us have already easily gotten to over 100 hours of playtime in less than a month. i'd say that's well worth the entry price even if you stopped playing this second.

How much content did New Leaf have less than a month into the game?

It only seems like "less" to do because in New Leaf things were so restrictive and forced you to wait until random times where villagers would suggest public works and stuff. In New Horizons once you make it past a week you can do whatever the hell you want pretty much whenever you want. Even worse if you're a time traveler.

Nevertheless you ALWAYS reach a point in Animal Crossing where you play for an hour and run out of things to do unless you feel like grinding for money.

Not a whole lot, you couldn't even build bridges until a month in, the town plaza was empty too.

Lack of gyroids (that were datamined already) does not = missing content.

It's at the point user where if you've been playing every day you'll have everything except the nooklets final upgrade I think. In comparison you still have a bunch of stuff still going on in NL. I said this before shortly after launch, if they're going to do the early access approach that's fine, but they better have a content update (more than just holiday ones since those are temporary) every month or so.

Villagers in this game feel so useless compared to previous games. Tasks are so rare now and the only point of them now is to get recipes

I have jet to pay the last debt. Town has 5 stars and tomorrow the Nook's will be upgraded.
Right know I invite amiibos of past villigers, one from each game.

I hate how the villagers won't visit you anymore, or invite you to a specific time.
It feels like with each title the life of the villagers get sucked out more and get replaced with a bigger dollhouse experience.
The QoL changes are nice, but as always Nintendo gets new systems in place that are terribly stupid, like the whole crafting system and the redundant texts for the 500th time.

I've had this game since launch. I only paid off the 4th loan I think. Which ever one gives you 3 extra rooms. I just got KK the other day, but I only play maybe an hour a day.
