Congratulations, you figured out the problem with prequel stories.
>Darth Vader was a fucking sperg
To be fair his personality in 0 was consistent with his personality in 4 flashbacks. He was already somewhat normal in those flashbacks and in 0 he's even more restrained because of everything that happened.
Can any of Y4 fans explain the appeal of it? The story is great but gameplay wise it's an absolute travesty. Minigames are garbage, upgrades barely exist, enemies are spongy for some reason, MUH ROOFTOPS is literally just 2 corridors. I think people should skip 4 and watch the movie version, what would be your argument against that?
>Y4
>the story is great
you are a retard
>gameplay wise it's an absolute travesty
They are all like that
Compared to 1-3 it absolutely is. In fact it's the first time Yakuza story wasn't anime tier garbage.
How is rubber bullets better than the secret evil Koreans of 2?
1 plot point isn't the entire story. And koreans are clearly not the silliest part of the game where osaka castle splits in two and you fight ninjas in it
>The story is great but gameplay wise it's an absolute travesty.
Yes, what would be your argument against that? You seem to have posted an image of a boy eating Tide instead of an argument.
He was a chained dog, user. Look at his expression.
>Story shows how everyone plays him because he is so restrained and predictable
>Realizes how much of a fool/clown he was
>Goes on a rampage against the strongest Tojo family at the time and wins
>Intimidates Shimano into letting him back in
>Acts violently and unpredictably so Shimano and others can't use his weaknesses since he doesn't seem to show any
>Mellows out by 4 and 5 because he's not that much affiliated with the Tojo Clan and everyone who could fuck him over in some way are long dead
Sounds pretty logical to me.
and then in 5 he starts having a midlife crisis when he realizes hes gotten old and isn't as strong as he once was
Tide pods do be lookin tasty, doe
He was already a chuuni retard from the beginning of the game though
He went on to become a very stable business owner, though.

What in the world are you talking about? Each character has their own unique fighting style, Saejima hits like a truck and has what amounts to wrestling moves, Akiyama is incredibly quick, Tanimura is a parry machine but he's the only one who actually feels weak, and Kiryu is like you're breaking the limitations of all the other characters. There's many new Heat Actions, they fixed the blocking issue from Kenzan and 3 fully in this game so enemies handle normally like back in 1 and 2 now, you kill enemies much quicker than in 3, you gain attack speed upgrades from what I recall, and there's way more variety than every game before it barring Kenzan.
>Minigames are garbage
They're the exact same ones as 3, Dead Souls, and 5 with refinements to make them more fun and less broken expert AI since darts and pool aren't unfun anymore. Hostess Maker is bad but blame that on 3. Fighter Training is also fun, it's just that the fatass who is full of himself barely ever attacks so his specific training is annoying. Other than that I have no idea what you dislike as they're all series staples plus Boxcelios is still around.
>MUH ROOFTOPS is literally just 2 corridors
Two enormous portions of the map, but yeah, they're enclosed areas, one housing Kamiyama. You're also forgetting this is the game that added Kamuro Underground (Though I might be confusing it with 3), the Underground Mall area, the entire sewer system, and that car park area.
>>what would be your argument against that?
>Entirely new styles.
>Entirely new Heat Actions even though some still return from the other games.
>Entirely new bosses.
>Interesting story, especially due to the constant hilarious twists they bust out come endgame.
>Kamurocho is the most fleshed out of all the games until you reach the Dragon Engine games.
>Only game to feature Tanimura outside of referencing him in Dead Souls.
>Last game to retain the bodily damage from what I remember.
He got possessed by Nishitani's ghost
I felt like Yakuza 0's justification for Goro fell short in a lot of places. I can see him being the Mad Dog being partly justified since how he acted before directly led to him being manipulated by Shimano to the point where an incredibly genuine feeling for him, saving Makoto, was seen a mile away and probably led to a feeling of loss of control. They don't show him enjoying fights/combat in canon, compared to some of the characters he meets like Nishitani and Awano which makes his transformation into the whacky combat hungry memer kind of a swing and miss.
Since I couldn't fit it it also fleshes out Majima some more after three games of being unhinged, and while 3 took steps into this direction it didn't fully commit to it yet. If you're coming from a 0 start this also continues to flesh out the Majima you started to know in 0 since it's about his past and his connection with Saejima which was basically 0's entire reason for Majima going through the hell he did.
It's also one of the only games that has a 1v1 Kiryu fight, choosing Saejima in the Millennium Tower bit in 5 lets you fight him but at that point you're more or less on equal terms whereas 4 is right at the start and really sells Kiryu's strength.
Yeah, 4 has a lot of dumb bits in the story at the end on top of wasting Tanimura in my opinion, but then it's made up for by things like trying new things narratively by starting you with Akiyama, avoiding Kiryu until more or less right near the end (Obviously there's the Saejima interaction but besides that he's not involved until his part), giving us two separate perspectives in the form of Akiyama and Tanimura when up until this point we were basically pseudo-yakuza members working with cops on the side to actually being a civvy or a cop.
Why is this tripfaggot sperging out?
Corona.
i like all of the games
i want them to hurry up and announce 7's actual date, and i'd like the black panther games ported and localised, along with ishin
Judgment 2 Idea: murder case in the Hostess scene, bring back Shinada as a cast member as an expert.
I just finished Y4 aside from two mind numbing things that happened near and at the end, overall I thought was excellent. I loved the 4 characters, it made all the side stuff even out more. My two major complaints are Akiyama's hostess "game" and Saejima's dojo "game." The very definition of tedious. Had they had been fun to actually do, like the Y0, K2 hostess clubs, then I wouldnt' have minded it. But these were not fun. at all.
The rubber bullet shit is not even remotely close to the worst part of that game. it happens 3 fucking times. 3 times. 3. thhhhhreeeeeeeee times
Y4 spoilers (do not even think about reading unless you want to ruin the story):
turning your back to an opponent after what happened in the early games. and then they make a fucking JOKE about it with Akiyama. My jaw was on the floor. it's like they were saying, heh yeah we know its retarded af
Majima is a self aware psychopath. It's obvious that he thinks about doing abhorrent things all the time but is someone who's disciplined. I'm sure we all have those random thoughts of doing harm to someone without acting on them it's just that with Majima, his impulses are extreme compared to most people.
That shit's in like every fucking Yakuza game and one of the reasons I can never take the story seriously. They fucking do this all the time and pretend it's a fucking surprise. I love the games in general but it's so frustrating when this shit happens, how to ruin everything in 3 seconds.
yeah i have to view as like a male soap opera, it's like WWE tier. on one hand it works, on the other hand it gets really frustrating. I can handle the cheese and the cringe, but treating me like I have the IQ of potato salad is where I have to draw the line.
