With all these Father/Child games out right now...

With all these Father/Child games out right now. How is it possible that no one could go near the emotional level that the "A Goofy Movie" did?

Because Goofy is beyond based.

A Goofy Movie is a mundane, realistic tale of a single father trying to connect with his son with cartoon characters. It's grounded an many who watch it can draw parallels to similar things they've been through with their dads.

Games always have a mystical, otherworldly element that can get bin the way of the relationship between the characters.

Do you think the established background with Goof Troop added to the film's emotional level?

the reason a goofy movie works is because it's about ideologies clashing, compromising in an unsatisfactory way and eventually learning to work together and appreciate the other's side for what it is instead of trying to change it to fit what they'd rather have

most sad dad games just want you to side with the parent and only let you care about the child once they stop clashing and become subservient

>A Goofy Movie
>Based off of Goof Troop
>Peg isn't in the movie
What the fuck?!

Oh shit Max actually got together with Roxanne

It's because the parental figure is always sad.

>imagine falling in love with a women
>imagine loving her so tenderly and making sweet music throughout the night
>imagine brining a sweet baby boy into the world, holding him and loving him dearly
>imagine your wife who dies unexpectedly leaving you to raise your son all by yourself
>imagine laughing and being the butt of the joke all the time to make your friends and your son happy
>but deep down you become goofy only so you can drown out the pain and agony of leaving your other half behind

Being Goofy is suffering

probably just a prom photo. the sequel Max leaves for college and she isn’t mentioned once. Most likely broke up before college

>>but deep down you become goofy only so you can drown out the pain and agony of leaving your other half behind

He isin't even touching her on the Photo.
Is max a confirmed Incel?

No, I'm not saying Minnie is crazy, what I'm saying is that SHE'S FUCKING GOOFY!

I never thought about that, why did you do this to me

He didn't say goofhawk

Because video game writers are hacks who couldn't cut it in other mediums. If somebody actually was capable of writing a story as good as A Goofy Movie, they'd be writing it for anything but a video game.

No not really. I watched the movie before the series and shit was still emotional for me. After i watched the series it just hit me even harder

Aren't most Father Simulators just about shooting badguys while your invincible AI daughter quips with you?

But Max is a total fucktard.

I loved this move as a kid and still love it now, but always hated the second movie with a burning passion. It's only now that I wonder if it's something I will appreciate now that I'm older (haven't watched it in over a decade). The story of an older man reclaiming some experience of his youth and romance sounds nice, and I do prefer older, more mature protagonists now.

How'd you guys feel about the second movie? And didn't the first one have a pc dvd-rom game?

I tried watching it but then turned it off during the poetry cafe scene with the finger snapping. It was really weird.

Fuck, I forgot about that part. I never liked it either. Think I just lost all interest in trying to give it another go.

I don't know if you would still hate it now but it's definitely the inferior movie.

An Extremely Goofy Movie pushes the meme of college being an enjoyable experience for slackers, so you might hate it by default.

>poetry
>slackers
>rival character
>Father and son going to the same school
>father dates a staff member
I just realized this shit is essentially Back to School, but with Goofy instead of Rodney Dangerfield...

why didnt he just tell his dad about his plans with roxanne?

because Goofy and Max are actually likable
usually the parent or the child character sucks and makes the game less enjoyable and more annoying rather than A Goofy Movie just being enjoyable the whole way through

A Goofy Movie is the best Disney movie by such a large margin it's insane.

>this is the first time Max has been mentioned since 2004

>That hoverhand
