Give me one reason this game shouldn't get a remake in the RE2/3 engine

Give me one reason this game shouldn't get a remake in the RE2/3 engine.

The fact that they are prioritizing 4 is mind boggling

Because it's perfect as it is. Fixed camera angles give it a horror movie feel, exactly what the series was going for. Plus REmake 2 and 3 cut alot of content because muh graphics.
REmake 1 actually ADDED new, good, fitting content.
2 and 3 would have profited from a REmake like the 1 was.

because way more people played 4? it's way more likely to make the money machine churn

That game is perfect and needs no remake. In fact they should remake 2 and 3 in it's same style.

Imagine remaking a remake.
Are you a retarded retard ?

There is no reason, but they're prioritizing 4 because it's likely a majority of the base assets have been made during 8's development based on leaks.

It's easier to re-use village, castle, assets etc than make up entirely new assets for a mansion.

That and maybe Capcom doesn't think they need to remake the remake?
Remake 0 instead

>cut alot of content because muh graphics

how is that even the reason fucking retard?

Is there honestly any difference between the original Gamecube version and the HD remaster? I've heard shit like the lighting got fucked in the different ports but I haven't seen anything that stood out too much. Basically, should I hash out for an original Gamecube copy or is the PC port fine?

RE1R is the only remake done right!
RE1 to RE1R is a total improvement while keeping the identity of the game.
RE2/RE3 to RE2R/ RE3R is totally a different game.
Would be great if they let RE1 out of this nonsense modern remake bullshit.

all they care about is the money bro, theres no sense of loyalty anymore. it’s literally just about money. this world is shit

Because remaking a fucking REMAKE is just pants-on-head retarded, plain and simple.

There is nothing wrong with them being completely new reemaginings.

RE2 Remake was the best remake of the whole series, like you have to a purely purist to think engine limitations are throwback to horror movies.

So in another 10 years when REmake has aged as poorly as the original did today, it still won't be worth remaking because remaking a remake is a bad idea outright?

Sounds like an unnecessary rule you made up just for an excuse for them to not remake it

They can remake it whenever they want. But the argument will always come down to, do they try to remake it in the original style of top down camera angles and tank controls? Then why not just play the HD remaster?
Okay, so let's remake it in the vein of 2make and 3make? Does over the shoulder even work for something like Spencer Mansion?

>Does over the shoulder even work for something like Spencer Mansion?
I don't see why not. Worst case scenario they have to expand the room size a bit

They would call it "reimagination" user.

The closest comparison we have is the Lost in Nightmares DLC for RE5.
But maybe the game is more suited for a First Person style like RE7?

It's shit

How many batman origin stories are there? Oonly video games are so hung up on canon and shit. Its not a tine line. Its not a universe. It the story being told by a new author. Fuck its as old as human language. Different story tellers twll the story differently.

Oh the irony in you calling others retarded.

>engine limitations
Jesus Christ, is today the "be the most retarded you can be" day on Yas Forums? Play some more than 50 games before thinking you can talk with people who know their shit, kiddo.

REmake 1 isn't the way it is because of engine limitations. A conscious decision was made to preserve the gameplay of the original, despite the tech allowing for OTS.

you have literally no response LMFAO

How would they balance it for OTS? Last time I played it, there were only like 2-3 zombies in each room. It would be pretty boring to play to be honest.

Maybe they'll make Lisa Trevor a Mr X/Nemesis style boss that slowly stalks you through the Mansion until your final confrontation with her as Chris or Jill? So you have to decide to slowly deal with normal zombies, or try to run past them. If you kill them you risk Crimson Heads and Lisa bum rushing you?

The rooms are also small and the game is filled with tight corridors, they wouldn't really need to balance anything I think, maybe make the zombies vomit again, or have some of them to power walk torwards you like in the old games.

PC port's great. If you can though, play the Gamecube original on a CRTV. Capcom didn't save the original assets like they did with Resident Evil 0, so in the conversion to HD they had to upres the SD textures from the Gamecube release and then have their artists fix with adding detail. This works well for the most part, but there are sections where the pre-rendered backgrounds are noticeable and you can see the stitching if you know where to look. It still looks incredible. I still gasp whenever I enter the hallway after the first zombie and I walk into the room with the birdcage illuminated with the chandelier.

That pic never fails to make me diamonds.

>cut content
>simplified puzzles
>dumbed down dialogue with lots of swearing
>bosses replaced with cutscenes
>no defensive items
>shitty gunpowder mechanics

There are some slight changes to the way the game looks in the HD remaster regarding lighting and such. Then there's also what the other user mentioned regarding increasing the resolution of SD backgrounds. I've seen this picture posted before and it shows some of the differences between the GC and remastered versions. Up to you what you feel looks better.

Waste of time, game's already perfect.

>engine limitations
Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you insinuating that the fixed camera angles were a result of limitations of the time?

You can also emulate.

Wonder how they will fuck up the regenerators

I bet they overuse the fuck out of them

Attached: re4regenerator.jpg (1200x675, 182.85K)

>should I hash out for an original Gamecube copy
you should emulate it because it's goddamn near perfect by now and later hit yourself in the head for even humoring the thought of being willingly scalped

Remake 1 can't age poorly, it's timeless.

nah its gonna be the opposite
look how they did lickers in re3 and the drain deimos
you will see them one time and thats it

The only way to Remake, Remake 1 is to make it first person. It will more faithfully capture the atmosphere and horror of the Spencer mansion than OTS.

>limitations
Silent Hill 1, a far smaller affair, was fully 3D.
Dino Crisis, made by Capcom, was fully 3D.
Gun Survivor, also made by Capcom, was fully 3D.
The series did employ 3D with the Outbreak games and CODE:Veornica, Outbreak File #1 and CODE:Veronica both being successful. However, they both used camera angles and Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0, both released in 2002, went back to pre-rendered backgrounds.
You're an idiot.

There will only be one, and it will be a set piece.

GCN copies go for $10 mate, they're cheaper on average.

What is the difference between REmake and the original anyway?
