Because duelest in the anime are fucking morons. Majority just do a big monster then the occasional magic or trap. They do combos that can’t happen or are so situational don’t happen. I’d anime duels were like real duels everyone’s layout would be focused on a handful of monsters instead of the mostly monsters on the show

in a game like yugioh with no resource system a free +1 is absurdly strong due to how much consistency it adds, there would almost never be a reason to not run 3 copies

Its literally a free +1 In card advantage and 99% if decks would be running it if it's legal. Card advantage and drawing is a much bigger deal in yugioh because it doesnt have a resource system like Magic or Pokemon TCG do.

it's a free spell that replaces itself and gives you more shit in your hand. if you could run 3 of Pot in any deck you will run 3 of Pot in every deck, because free draws are a big deal when the only resource in the game is how many cards you have in your hand.

Because in the show everything is about BIG PLAYS that get sudden turnarounds from the opponent that fuck em up, so for the character to recover their hand they need it to do anything.

Dueling in the show is like throwing shit at a wall until it falls over, dueling in real life is finding the right brick to remove so the whole thing tumbles down.

Because removal isn't that big of a deal anymore and a lot of boss monsters can't even be removed by raigeki

it doesn't do anything going first so it's a dead card 50% of the time and going second your opponent is going to either have multiple negates on board so it won't resolve or all his shit floats so you just generate them card advantage by nuking the field and it's a dead card again

Board destruction is not as bad anymore since there a bunch of cards either immune, can negate raigeki or float into something by being destroyed. Also Graveyard is a second hand
