For me its Crysis
MAXIMUM STEALTH
>MAXIMUM STEALTH
shhhhhhhh!
That's a stealth game? All I know is it was a graphics benchmark for like a hundred years.
The stealth genre is so small that hidden gems for me tend to stealth sections in non-stealth games. A couple rooms in Halo 1 during the Assault on the Control Room level, for example.
You can turn invisible and grab enemies. Also set up elaborate traps to take out unsuspecting groups.
sure, but there's definitely titles out there that people don't know about. the most obvious example for me is Invisible Inc., which has everything a stealth-head wants
Manhunt and Forbidden Siren are the best. I don't get hardcore stealthfags at all, it's an okay genre that boils down to doing same stop then pop shit 90% of the time.
>shoot a guard
>20 seconds later they forget and resume regular patrol
Good game. There's a sequel, too, I believe.
Best stealth places restriction on the player. Cia level in Splinter Cell 1 was my favorite. Not allowed to kill, can't be seen.
nah just DLC, it's decent enough tho.
A topic of conversation should be overrated stealth games. Yas Forums holds up Chaos Theory like it's the second coming of Christ when it's just a good, solid stealth game. It really doesn't compare to the heights of MGS and Thief.
I love the two Styx games.
>nah just DLC, it's decent enough tho.
I was thinking of the Stealth Bastard games.
>Chaos Theory
I played the hell out of it as a kid, but the original was always my favorite.
Just finished Hitman 2016. Might as well replay the missions since I don't have a backlog. Can't think of a "hidden gem" and most of the lesser known stealth games I like are still reasonably popular.
how's this game?
Crysis became infinitely less fun once the enemies stopped being humans. Playing a superpowered first person stealth shooter was so fun, but then the only cool bit left was the gun physics.
AHEM
>playing
Splinter Cell on PC. trying to get it work with a controller, harder than it sounds
>hidden gem
Seconding Invisible Inc. If you haven't played it already, get on it. It rewards lethal and non-lethal play in different ways.
Play Invisible Inc, fags.
this bothers me too, is there a single game that maintains a caution state after it's discovered you are there?
>trying to get it work with a controller,
The kb&m controls are great, though.
Doesn't Hitman? You can change costumes, but they'll still be looking out for you.
replaying Seven the days long gone
shittier than I remembered
sad
i played the demo but it didn't click with me
Agreed. They ended up making it cowadoody with aliens.
but muh analog control
Play warhead, you're a one man LA riot from Start to Finish. AND there's ayylmaos but they serve as a break from the gooks instead of a replacement
Yeah. I have all the games on og xbox and play them through s-video on a good quality crt. Lower resolution, but I think that helps old games.
Alpha Protocol
Haven't killed anyone so far. Well, one guy but that was a cutscene after I managed to sneak up to that faggot.
>metal gear solid
>stealth
Bad meme, there's tons of stealth in those games.
>tons
Ok let's not start lying just to win arguments
>I ran through shooting everything, that means there's no stealth
Been playing all the dishonored games. I really enjoy them, but I think it's only possible stealth-wise if you're the type of person that can do self imposed challenges and not feel like you're just fucking yourself pointlessly. Lethal and no stealth is such a stupidly easy way to beat those games, and quickly. Stealth us just a liability, you just have to put "don't be seen" in your head.
>user overplays his hand
nice try, but you won't bait me today
This is completely true. I have fun being stealthy in that game if I challenge myself to steal absolutely everything, or neutralize a target in a complex way. If you just go straight for the finish line then Dishonored becomes a very uninteresting game
