I've spent over 60 hours on this game, killed most of the bosses and I still have no idea what the fuck I'm doing and why. Some bosses and NPCs speak cryptic, eldritch crap and that passes for plot?

The point of most From games is the gameplay. The story is secondary and is a 'reward' for observation and exploration. For now, you're a hunter, so go out and hunt.
