You fags argue about this shit all the time, so it's time to fucking settle this.
Which controller has the best D-Pad?

dual sense
8bitdo
Don't even try to argue with this.
your moms house cause I D'd her in her pad.
dualshock
Who fucking cares. Any modern game using d-pad is fucking trash. Grow up weebs
Made for tiny japanese fingers and tiny japanese penises.
dualshock no competition. instead of being a single tedious pad that can slightly dent in a direction and permanently annoy you, the PS4 has four seperate buttons that feel smooth and comfy and are far less breakable. also when sweaty people use the Wii U d-pad it gets sticky and cold and repulses me from ever touching it again
unironically the joycons, too bad retards still don't get button dpads or even gated analog sticks so we're sadly still stuck with conventional dpads that are pure trash 99% of the time
The Steam Controller.
But you guys murdered it with words. So now we will forever be stuck with the console dpad and joysticks as the controller's final evolution.
the dualsense
I'm certain Yas Forums got filtered by it but it really is an improvement. Much cleaner diagonal inputs.
nintendo > xbox > playstation
They’re not 4 seperate buttons you Mong. They just look like 4 seperate buttons. It’s functionally the same as the other two.
anybody who says Nintendo is a brainwashed fanboy. At no point in history has Nintendo ever had the best hardware.
This is the correct answer
nobody asked, pigskin
PSP
I'm sad the Vita took this a step backwards from perfection.
Left. It does everything else the others do, but also helps with fighting games
came here to post this, based and truthful pilled
Sony > Nintendo > MS.
MS dpads have gotten slightly better over the years, but they are still just awful. Plus that positioning is only good for shootan, and if your playing shootan with a controller your a fucking retard.
>at no point in history has Nintendo ever had the best hardware.
In terms of power:
SNES>Mega Drive
N64>PS1
Xbox>GameCube>PS2
they only stopped having the best/competitive hardware after poor sales of GameCube
The vita having a good d-pad is a meme perpetuated by /vitagen/ as the only thing going for it.
Can someone explain to me why the dpad-debate is so hotly contested?
I somewhat understand it on console, because you get a controller with the system and that's pretty much going to have to hold you over, but if you play fighting games you buy one of those fighting-game-spesific pads, right?
If you're on PC I literally don't see the argument. Your keyboard is the perfect dpad and you even have 3 fingers manning the stations meaning reduced input time from you as no thumb has to physically move to a new button (unless you're hitting "S" I guess?).
also Vita has best D-pad.
PSP didn't have the same build quality imo,
and nothing else has measured up for me.
it's the only good console they've made besides PS1 and PS2
it's probably because Nintendo invented the D-pad, and had a patent on them until 2005.
this meant that other consoles would use alternative models to avoid infringing, which led to differing quality, etc.
when the patent expired, this opened up manufacturing possibilities, leading to more recent controllers having further experimentation in their D-pad build.
thus, there's a lot of variety in D-pads. so it's fun to analyse which are the 'best'
>Your keyboard is the perfect dpad and you even have 3 fingers manning the stations meaning reduced input time
that's true, but what I find problematic are games that also demand you to use 7-8 other keys regularly. On a pad all 8 are easily accessed with triggers and face buttons, but on PC using ASDF ZXCV instead makes me fuck up inputs a lot more.
PC
I would say Playstation or 8bitdo.
Analog sticks are comfortable whether they're on top or on bottom.
But d-pads are more comfortable if they're on top.
I learned that when I tried playing retro games that use the d-pad on controllers that have the d-pad on the buttom.
It's less about d-pad material, shape, and wobble and more about thumb placement.
How's the build quality on the new one? Heard the original breaks fast.
Look at this Nep
How does the pro controller feel? I would argue ps4 has the better d-pad and triggers because of
how soft they feel, but i always liked the asymmetrical sticks on the xbone and the bigger size on the shit like the duke.
