This is overreaching a lot. There's a good chance they've just updated the memory controller to support a newer type of DRAM due to production shortages. It could also be that they're building a 'split TV' mode into the dock, allowing more than 1 screen to be output to at a time (i.e 2 screens with 2 players each for 4 way MK8).

My post was just poorly formatted. They were two separate points. The DRAM update is still more than likely to accommodate changes to production within large factories, moreso than any chip upgrade.
