"Personally, I'd love to do Advance Wars...

>"Personally, I'd love to do Advance Wars, but since it's harder to create relationships between its characters compared to Fire Emblem, I don't have a clear idea of what kind of setting it could have," Yamagami told Eurogamer.

Should Advance Wars use waifus and dating to revive itself from the grave?

No. I'd rather it stay dead than have its corpse mined for gacha coomers.

Why not?
Anything is better than staying dead.

Tell that to ChuChu Rocket that got resurrected for a fucking Apple Arcade game.

What a cop out, you don't need dating for decent storytelling.

Advance Wars is better dead than becoming a waifu filled game to fuel those terrible gacha games.

Considering the direction nintendo has been heading, it's going to be some watered down kid friendly game with no difficulty at all.

Hasn't that been Nintendo's direction for decades though?

Yup. They used to have a good difficulty balance though, 15 or 20 years ago.

Now, every game holds your hand all the way to the credits.

Yes. Only FEfags have the luxury of bemoaning waifus while they guzzle down new game after new game in their revitalized franchise. AW has some god-tier waifus, and if the player sticking their dick in Nell is the price we have to pay to get new games, I'm ready and willing to pay it.

Days of Ruin was pure kino. I still consider it my favorite because of how much it improved the gameplay.

No they already ruined Fire Emblem, leave Nintendo Wars alone if you aren't going to do it right.

Advance Wars should have got a western comic artstyle but they tried that with Codename STEAM and it blew up in their face

Days of Ruin has the best unit roster in the series, but suffers badly from a raft of awful aesthetic choices, lack of content, lack of assets, and an overwrought, cliche-ridden story more typical of FE than the lightweight banter that typified AW. The game completely threw away AW's unique and charming artstyle in a misguided attempt to appeal to Western fans, gutted battle sprites (only 2 sets and barely any animation for them), didn't have the War Room, didn't have Hard Campaign. A soundtrack which used to have an incredible amount of charming variety became almost 100% driving rock that, while good, becomes completely indistinguishable. This is more of a subjective take, but the CO changes also detracted from the diversity of the cast. Easily the worst of the four, which is a shame, because (as mentioned) the unit roster was great.

Fuck off, I'd rather have new games than nothing at all. New games don't make the old ones any less good, and many of the new FE games have been plenty of fun even if diehard FEfags apparently would rather the series had died after RD.

Codename steam had gameplay issues

AW's style was perfected in AW2. They should return to that artstyle and CO system along with the DoR unit roster and do whatever waifu shit they need to in order to sell the game.

So was Wargroove any good? I hate the COs designs in it but was the gameplay at least on par with Advance Wars?

days of ruin is such kino and the animations are pure soul compared to the abortion that are new mystery and shadow dragon

>implying there are people here who aren't waifufags

Jesus, just make Days of Ruin 2 and put it on the Switch.

How do you possibly justify being such a brand slave?
There are a dozen games released every day, and Strategy games have never been better.
You have EVERYTHING and you would sacrifice quality and vision for faggotry and monetary delusions.
You're a cancerous waste of carbon you human-shaped cognitive amalgam of rot.
What a fucking loser you are, to voluntary take in shit for no other reason than being an addict.
You're literally a fuckin' addict.

I lost interest in the campaign after about 5-6 hours. It's passable mechanically, aside from the leaders which I didn't care for either gameplay wise or aesthetically. I really bought it for the multiplayer because I love AW multi but couldn't get my friends on board with it.

Every series has their waifufags. But there are different levels of waifufaggotry when it comes to fandoms. Gacha games lie on the highest scale of waifufaggotry. Fire Emblem and Fate had waifufags since their inception but now it's gotten so ridiculous that cumskull discussion became 70-80% of all discussion related to the series. You can't browse a single thread without someone shouting "I WANT TO SMELL FEET". I'm not sure if that's related to the franchises changing directions or the internet as a whole attracting more autists, probably a combination of both.

Wargroove is great. Highly recommended.

DoR barely has any animations. Seriously, compare the battle sprites to AW2's. It's honestly pathetic. The game is very bare-bones.

DoR bombed, so that's not gonna happen. IMO they should do a brand new AW universe with the cartoony, colorful style that made it popular in the first place. The only hard requirements are grid-based TBS with disposable units and some kind of CO system, so there's lots of room to innovate.

Take your meds, user.

AW2 is just AW with neotanks in it, more like a expansion than anything, days of ruin animations beat them really badly

Tell that to c&c

You make it sound like FEH 'suddenly introduced' them though. This faggotry has existed back in Awakening and even way earlier.

>days of ruin animations beat them really badly
No, seriously, watch DoR combat sprites. The tanks are a perfect example. When AW1-AWDS tanks fire, the entire sprite rocks back with realistic momentum. When DoR tanks fire, there's a plume of smoke at the barrel and none of the same animated movement you see in the earlier games. It's pretty disappointing. The game was clearly made on a tighter budget overall - there's just substantially less content in both the art and the gameplay. With that said, I think it's still a great game and well worth playing, even though it's my least favorite of the 4.

I already said waifufags have existed since the creation of their franchises. The first Fire Emblem game probably had waifufags as well. My point is that it went overdrive in the previous decade and overtook every part of the original fandom. You can tell the differences between the 2000s and the 2010s when it comes to these fandoms.

>Wargroove is great.
stopped reading right there
LOL

I never understood this about Nintendo

You can bank off your old franchises by just making cheaper downloadable games. Like I'd pay $20-30 for a new Advance Wars with online play and map editor with the same sprites from 2 or some bullshit. Same thing with their other dead franchises.

AW already has waifus just no relationship elements. The reason its not being made is simply because there's no point in making AW when FE exists and can sell 10x more.

The franchise is dead because people stopped buying it. What you propose is by no means guaranteed to turn a profit, though I wish it were otherwise. Executives need a safe bet.

Such a blessed feeling playing the gameboy, looking up, and seeing the game you were playing on a different screen.

Yeah, I've been craving a new advance wars. Shit, give me AW with Fire Emblem tier waifu's to coom over.
Shit just look at the hot chicks in the Battalion Wars series, that's a spin off of this franchise. They can do it again.

They hated him because he told the truth

they literally did them before but no one seems to buy them

If game developers only focused on safe bets then the industry wouldn't have evolved and changed drastically.
