Is Steam reviews the worst of Steam?

Puts more than 70hrs into the game, calls it great, still gives it a negative review

to many users steam reviews section is a glorified complaint forum

this
also half the reviews on steam are cringe lords trying to be funny

If the game is a multiplayer game, that's a legit concern for people who are interested in buying it. Why the fuck would you buy some MP game with shit netcode

This. EGS is better.

>Game comes with a completely non-functional feature.
>Still reccommend it, despite being unable to properly play it
People like you are the reason developers shit out broken games and "fix it later"

>game doesn't function correctly
>"HOW DARE YOU EXPESS YOUR DISAPPROVAL"
I know you like the taste of game developer cum, but try not to be a fucking retard.

Why the fuck would you put 70 hours into the game if it's not working?

post your game if you know so much better then.

No it's a good way to tank the scores of a game when the devs or publisher do something stupid.
For instance Take Two and GTA V or Bethesda and paid mods.

It is funny for games like Sekiro that have a slew of positive reviews from people who refunded it in less than 2 hours due to getting filtered. The reviews are still positive though so I guess it's ok.

there's nothing wrong with this. if he bought the game thinking he was going to get MP experience, then doesn't, despite liking the SP game, then ofc he's right to give it a thumbs down. fuck that game. steam reviews are user reviews, they're just meant to give you different insights. not a 100% rock solid, well written and edited paper on the pros and cons. i am also much more likely to read the negative reviews than i am the positive ones. so this would help me as I don't usually read that many positive reviews.

>puts hundreds of hours into the game
>this game isn't worth your money

I rather trust user reviews more then I trust games journo reviews.

How is it my fault if Steam wont allow me to give a neutral review? This only" good or bad" type of review is shit, not every review is simply black or white.

I played an early access game for several hundred of hours and the most recent updates made it worse in my opinion If I could lets say give a numerical score or something I'd do it but if you ruin my favourite game with patches and expect me to keep a positive review you're mistaken

>buy an online game expecting multiplayer functionality
>unplayable due to constant connection issues

This is a legitimate complaint. Developers should listen to their consumers, because these are the people supporting them. It's easy to take offense but if you are advertising a service you should do what you can to ensure it works properly.

I've put tens of thousands of dollars into continuing to live but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Agree its better to complain on the forums where no potential customer can see it or it gets deleted outright! That's based right?

game devs having shit tier online support is a valid complaint. gave devs being lazy fucks and not having any semblance of cheat protection for their online game is another. buy enough fucking servers for your fucking online game.

An anal pained developer typed this

>Look mommy! I posted it again!

Yeah but that's a good thing

Reviews like that are often when the developers release an update that completely ruins the game for said person though

>Puts more than 70hrs into the game, calls it great, still gives it a negative review
As opposed to reviewing the game after less than an hour played? Nothing wrong here.

>NOOOOOOOOOO I DONT WANT TO READ! JUST GIVE ME A TWO DIGIT NUMBER I DONT WANT TO THINK FOR MYSELF!

an anal pained dev made this thread to begin with, it's painfully obvious

good goyim zero reviews are better than bad ones

Two Options
1) It could have been a multiplayer game that received an update that fucked with the balancing and/or currency system; rendering it nigh unplayable.
2) You've never had a guilty pleasure game that is objectively shit?

>OMG THIS GAME LETS ME FLUSH A TOILET 10/10
>HEH BUTTON MAKE THING GO BOOM
>0.1 hours played
>154,987 people found this review helpful

>This game isn't very good because
>680 hours played
>3 people found this review helpful

>YOU CAN PET THE DOGGO
>11/10 - WOULD BUY AGAIN

Dusk review?

The game from the review is Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition

>want to find out if a game is good or not
>decide to check out some reviews from actual gamers besides journalists are shit
>get funny time epic gamer reddit posts
fucking mistake. "WAS THIS REVIEW FUNNY? XD" what a retarded ass feature

Still better and more honest reviews than metacritic.

>buy some indie devs game and legit like it
>write a short review highlighting the good things
>he replies with thanks for playing it and hes glad I enjoyed it

Attached: 1282597532713.jpg (299x274, 30.72K)

I got that once. Pretty based.

>JUST GIVE ME A TWO DIGIT NUMBER

It sucks as well, because scores under 80 equal unplayable dogshit to most people.

Found the review its Divinity Original Sin 2 so no MP necessary

not the point retard, most users don't leave reviews for games they liked, only games they dislike.

I hate Epic Games.

That is all

My favorite is reading people with literally 1000+ hours in a game giving it a negative review
