Just take care of your shit retard

that disc rot is still yours

why the fuck did you cum on your cd

>living forever
Fuck off Nosferatu

Unless you plan on keeping all of your discs in an air tight vault at all times you ain't stopping it.

>30 year old CD

Disc rot is real you tard

>OMG guys, I left all my toilet paper out in the rain, and now it's RUINED! I should have gone with digital toilet paper this whole time

I have discs that I've had since early 2000s that still look mint. You do know you're supposed to keep them in the case right?

How is physical media better than digital media, it's an upgrade on all fronts

Most of my cardbox collector editions are getting wrecked by the passage of time.

Especially the unsealed ones.

wow it's early 2000s dude. try early 90s. still mint and fucking great

I have literally never had a game stop working for me
I’ve got disc games that are 25 years old and they don’t have a single scratch, Famicom games that are almost 40 years old and their boxes are in better condition than that CD

It is, if you were smart you made copies of it in the decades before it started showing pinholes. Not tied to an account, not tied to patches, your game.

Isn't Disc Rot an issue with the manufacturing process and how you store it has very little bearing on if it happens or not?

Yup. Look at metal gear on the gamecube.
That game is known to already be rotting wheras most games are estimated to rot WAY after we all die

pirated games is mine forever

i don't know man. have you tried putting cd in microwave? must be manufacturing problem alone. no outside influence, i just microwave it and it doesn't work anymore and looks weird.
nah seriously though i think it's usually printing issue, but that doesn't mean that if you store discs in some swamp that they don't "rot"

From what I understand about that game is the image on the top of the disc starts to crack or peel away, same with Skies of Arcadia Legends, but both games actually still run fine when that happens. Unless there is a separate issue, or perhaps that issue might cause playback problems in a number of years.

The problem is idiots store their games in the basement or attic

>Not tied to an account, not tied to patches
You don't have to patch DRM-free copies, like those from GOG.com and Humble Store.

It can be a manufacturing problem, but It can also happen do to poor storage.
Leaving them in areas where they'll get a lot of direct sunlight, can damage them too.

It is a manufacturing issue. Ever seen at he bottom of a disc and it looks like someone "spilled something" on it? Big mega corps did anything they could to press discs for as few cents as possible from China.

I have music CDs from 1980, literally the first year of manufacture with no disc rot. Also let me tell you that these first discs are fucking solid. They feel heavier than todays shitty rewritables and other music CDs you can buy these days.

Also
>no having BASED cartridges
Discs were a fucking meme and you're all idiots for allowing Sony to trojan horse their format into your home through video games.

hard drive degradation is also a thing retard.

its called a CD case and they all come with one

>hard drive degradation is also a thing retard.

*copy and paste my pirated games to another hard drive*

nice try bud

Quoted the wrong post, meant to quote this

>have absolute shit wifi takes days to download then install, physical you just pop it in wait for it to install then play

>Clone disk, put on personal NAS
Nothing personal kid

based ctrl+c user

Some of the cheaper blanks I got in the late 90s and early 2000s have some rot on them. most of them still work. normal shit still is fine though.

Yeah you've got a lot of old shit disk, but probably no friends or women either.

Enjoy your old shit games alone I guess.

ah fuck, it really did happen.

Man I’m glad I live in a firs world country, I get 500mbs but it’s fucking expensive, I pay $50 US a month, Canada is too fucking expensive

>dont own your shit
>some of the shit currently requires internet to play
>literally still paying ISP to access """""your""""" stuff
>this is an upgrade
