76 has a rich, expansive world of interesting environments and Fallout lore. At its best, it paints an eerie picture of life in the wasteland immediately after the war, detailing the struggle - and ultimate failure - of the survivors. It was lacking in direct narrative, but Wastelanders (tentatively) seems to be addressing that well. I've only played a little bit, but the characters I've talked to were likeable and interesting, and they've reintroduced FO3-NV style dialogue.
The shooting of 76 is well-done, but not exceptional. It's not DOOM Eternal or anything. Wastelanders has made it smoother and more responsive than ever, and I generally find the guns satisfying to use. My only real complaint is that some weapon categories like pistols or laser/plasma rifles could use more love.
The looting system can be frustrating compared to something like Borderlands. It's not that it has more RNG than Borderlands with its million guns, but the legendary system means that many items you find will end up being garbage. This ailment is somewhat relieved by the ability to recycle legendaries to buy new ones, but it could still use some work in my opinion. Regardless, as a fellow looter-shooter fan, I enjoy looking for Legendary enemies to murder and plunder.
It's not a flawless game, but I think it's well worth it for any Fallout fan who likes the shoot/loot loop.
Maybe if it was cheaper I would've bought it and tried it out. But the loot is also scaled to the player, so you're not really getting random loot. You just get scraps and bites until you've invested too much time before anything good drops, because the loot is scaled to the player.

Is he wearing the latest "most advanced prewar power armor even more advanced than T-51/T-60 tm" in that pick? Also does Bethesda care at all about internal consistency of storytelling anymore? Or does Pete simply walk into the writers room on occasion and smear any quality work with his ass?

>Shoot guy in FO1 >get loot Wow. Can't like a game now can we? >it took Bethesda this long and the game still makes retard seethes more than Fallout 4 Cope >you're not really getting random loot No, you are. It's just tied to a leveled list. The loot you get is still random, it just doesn't go outside of a certain range. >o-only shills like good games!!!!11 They can do whatever they want with the universe afaic. The additions are there to make gameplay fun. The story is there to make gameplay fun. Gameplay is fun, so what's wrong with what they do? Besides make you have an autistic fit, that is.
Side with Raiders, dude, it's not something you get to do often in Fallout.

>No, you are. It's just tied to a leveled list. The loot you get is still random, it just doesn't go outside of a certain range. Then it isn't really random. Why would I want to play a looter where I get intentionally handed shit until I'm high enough of a level?

the contrarianism has taken too much of a stranglehold on this site, now we even defend fo76.
based I really like Fallout 76 It's a very misunderstood game imo Suffered from a rough launch and the colossal amount of fuck-ups bethesda made with fallout 76 related-things (the bag, bottle, fallout 1st, etc.) It really doesn't deserve the hate it gets. It wasn't even one of the worst games that came out in 2018, and yet people treat it like it's one of the worst games of all time. I still find it impressive that bethesda's B-Team managed to create a world this good. Hope they don't get shut down like what happened with bioware's B-Team after Mass Effect Andromeda.

Why should I reinstall this game? I actually played a bit of it but am skeptical of this new "update" does adding NPCs really add into the game?

Great post user! Very based! I also have bought Fallout First so I can enjoy the game even more!
I put your post through the google and found out that it comes from reddit, so here's a steam review from reviewer MGfreak.
Product received for free This game shows everything wrong with Bethesda. Everything.
I played this game on the Bethesda launcher so i got it on steam for free and by god i'm happy i only paid a few bucks for this game back then.
This game is a Multiplayer Mod forced into Fallout 4. 90% of the assets in this game are from Fallout 4. Maybe even more. The rocks, the weapons, the haircuts, the trees, most buildings, the clothes, the noses, and everything else.
Wanna see something new? You can pay for it in the ingame shop. The only ing reason why this game is Mulitplayer is the players' urge for individuality. You wanna look cool or at least a little bit different than every other NPC or Player? Pay for it. This is the only reason! Bethesda KNOWS that every armor or free shirt in this game looks so horrible, boring and so blurry, that the player feels forced to pay for a better texture if he does not want to look like a piece of low resolution texture.
Speaking of low resolution texture. This game looks bad. I doesnt even come close to those screenshots. I dont know what kind of filters Bthesda was using, but snapchat could take a few notes here. Low res and blurry textures, horrible render distance, shadows that look like a 100 year old chessboard and facial animation from a nightmare.
Yay, NPCs are back, but those facial animations. They look weird. There are no natural motions. Everything gets pushed and stretched. For example if someone raises their eyebrows. They dont move up, there is a small anchorpoint that gets pulled up, everything else of that eyebrows stays in its position. Same goes for the mouth and eyes. Weird.

The AI sucks. Sometimes it sees you miles away, sometimes it doesnt see you when you are standing directly infront of it. Sometimes it doesnt move. Sometimes it just runs away. But one thing is always the same: The fights are never fun.
The combat system. Its just old man. It was already horrible when New Vegas or Fallout 3 was released. It was old when Fallout 4 launched and it is still old today.
The UI / Pip-Boy. Ouh man. Its a nightmare. AND. IT. WAS. NEVER. DONE. WITH. MULTIPLAYER. IN. MIND. The pipboy was always a horrible hud. We all know it. But it was immersive and not that bad because the game paused when you opened the HUD. Now Fallout 76 is real time. No more game pauses. Good luck finding your way through the worst UI ever while the enemy still shoots at you.
This game was done because bethesda wants to cash in. Good night Fallout.
Oh by the way. The ingame shop? Dont like the gameplay loop of collecting junk, repairing your ammo and crafting your food? Buy it. Buy repair kits, buy junk collecting robots and buy refrigerators. YAY!

So can I get a GF in this game now? I want to make e-love to a fine gal.
It always sound schizo when people say it but is this an actual corporate shill? It sounds insane for Zenimax to pay anyone to post here but nonetheless this sounds so inorganic.
