>huge sprawling open world ancient Greece
But
>everyone I ask says it sucks
Is this game worth my time? It's only $20 on the ps store so I'm thinking of getting it

By 'everyone' do you mean Yas Forums? If so, you can safely discount literally every single thing Yas Forums says about videogames.
even this
i didnt like it because i got burned out from origins
For $20 yeah
I think it’s the best ac. But wtf do I know?
It’s good but don’t do any side quest if you want to finish it. If you do you’ll burn out and never ever finish it
Atlantis is pretty but got boring fast too
It is comfortably the best game in the franchise.
The game seems to be amazing at first but the longer you play, the more apparent its flaws become. It's still a decent 7/10 (maybe 8/10 if you're a sucker for ancient greece) so 20 bucks are pretty fair. The game is absolutely massive though, so try to avoid grinding out side content unless you want to end up boring yourself to death.
I did all the side content and explored the entire map including all the ?’s and it only took 150 hours. Don’t listen to these fags they hate videogames and have ADHD. Most the side content is better/more interesting than the story. Some is real bad though like the dyke black big bitch.
It's fun
If you like repetitive busywork then that's fine but don't act like hunting down all these dumb cultists , clearing out every single camp on the map or crawling through repetitive caves is anything to write home about. The whole game is filled with the most formulaic Ubisoft check list "content" imaginable.
It's alright for a loot based arpg, just do yourself a favor and don't try to do all the sidequests.
i honestly liked it.
It is a good open world video game and it is a terrible Assassin's Creed.
its fine if you have like nothing else to play and know you're getting into an extreeeeeeeeeemely long mediocre ubi checklist
you can spend your money however you want since you can always get more, but video games are never worth your time because time is something you can never get back
for 20?
yes totally worth it, specially if you like ancient greece, just walking around, exploring and travel on your ship, stand on top of a mountain in the night and see the lights of the towns or city on a far away island, is such a joy.
gamepolay is pretty good, but if you try to do all the side quests your gonna get burned pretty soon, just enjoy the game at your own pace, and play it on nightmare.
40 hours in and I got burned out.
Stopped playing after 30 hours. Shit got so boring and repetitive.
It doesnt necessarily suck. If you like the AC formula then you'll like it. But the story is all kinds of retarded and the side content can get repetitive very quickly which makes the game boring since its a HUUUGE fucking map.
Its probably the first game that so much content that it felt kinda meh.
I don't like AC and didn't play any beside ezio trilogy and i loved that game
It's a better adventure rpg than witcher 3 to be honest
Origins has better setting and characters
Around 7 hours in, you hit a solid rock that forces you to grind so you have the required level to proceed the main story. This was made so that you will consider spending more money on microtransactions to avoid the grind. Pirate it, if you want to see ancient Greece.
>Around 7 hours in, you hit a solid rock that forces you to grind so you have the required level to proceed the main story.
I never experienced that. I never had to grind at all to progress in the main story. But then I just played it a few months ago so maybe the grind got toned down in updates.
>Most the side content is better/more interesting than the story
damning with faint praise, the story is so fucking boring
Protip: In order to get the best ending DO NOT kill any major story characters in the beginning except for the guy with the missing eye. Even a certain general that runs his mouth nonstop is meant to be spared. Also refuse to fight your sibling (possible playable character choice) no matter what.
Only the first DLC is good. The Atlantis stuff looks nice but that's it. And for the main game, only the main story kept me going, and even then just because Alexios is well acted (after the early part of the game) and animated.
I really liked being able to wander round the massive desert in Origins and it felt very immersive, is there anything like that in this?
I enjoyed it but I never faced the grind other players did. In saying that I frequently took breaks to explore entire regions between story beats because unlike in Origins the map is diverse. In Origins I frequently ran into missions above my level.
Ubisoft DLC always suffers from having a decent idea and then having the execution of the B and C teams they give the projects to. They really fucked up with the forced family at the end of the first DLC, it was uncomfortable playing Kassandra because she's cooler and then being made to be the wife in a family. What's it like for Alexios?
I gave up on the second DLC somewhere in episode 2's Hades.
>and it only took 150 hours
You could play like 5+ games to 100% in the same amount of time.
