How can you include gay characters in video games without it feeling forced?
you don't
don't have the audience know they're gay
Unless it's a key part of their personal narrative, don't make it a massive aspect of the character. If they want to normalize gay characters, they should treat it like a normal romance.

all fags should be thrown off rooftops
it's an impossible to win battle, cause homophobes will say it's forced no matter how tucked that info is.
The only way to make a gay character non forced to them is not putting a gay character in the first place.
Tho on serious note, the best way is integrating it into his character without making it the sole characteristic. One example many here will bring up is Arcade Gannon from NV, to get out that he's gay it takes a bunch of skill checks and be pretty far with his affinity. This is on topof him being a compelling character by himself
If you wanna include a character just because he's gay you're already forcing it
I don't know, but it's impossible to include (((bisexual))) characters in video games without it feeling forced.
Naturally intergrate it in the story. Kanji in Persona 4 is most likely bi/gay, but that part of him doesn't feel forced. If you just say x character is gay, it's just forced.
