Is anyone actually excited for this?

Is anyone actually excited for this?

On the one hand Microsoft might finally make some damn games

On the other hand it might be hella expensive, might have hella expensive proprietary expandable memory, the new exclusives are said to be on xbone also until 2021 or 2022, game sales will be lower due to game pass etc

I can't tell if Microsoft is genius or not

They'll never have the exclusives that Sony gets.

No shit

The idea is they might Begin to make their own AAA exclusives that might actually take off in popularity

Might as well buy a PC, next gen consoles are just overpriced pre built PCs.

I'm actually not happy they removed HDMI in. I know it was for cost + not having ANYTHING to do with tvtvtvtvtv but I really liked just turning on my Xbox and my home theater all turns on, especially now that you can do it with digital assistants.

Yes

Sony is LITERALLY on life support next-gen when the immaculate Phil Spencer BTFOs the fuck out of Sony with the Beastbox Sex!

>Is anyone actually excited for this?
No. Why would I?
>On the one hand Microsoft might finally make some damn games
Yes they'll make games. But one a single one worth a damn, they haven't made a good one since the middle of the 360 generation and their "top" studios are literal clones of better studios who have left them behind (namely Halo and Gears franchises).

Everything you wrote is irrelevant since it's all on the PC I already own. As you rightfuly pointed out there won't be a single 9th gen Xsex 1st party title because every game has to run on a 2013 console too, so my PC not being as good as an Xsex the day it releases is a non-issue because it can run 2013 games just fine, and by 2022 I'll have upgraded it once more. And that's pretending I gave a shit about MS 1st party games, which I don't, so the point is double moot.

But the xbox already plays movies?

why do you post the same misinfo in every xbox thread? what do you get out of it?

What misinfo?

Considering both Sony and MS are talking about anything but games has killed all interest I have in them. Everything im interested in is on the Switch or will just come out for the PC eventually.

>there won't be a single 9th gen Xsex 1st party title because every game has to run on a 2013 console too

>“As our content comes out over the next year, two years, all of our games, sort of like PC, will play up and down that family of devices,” Booty explains. “We want to make sure that if someone invests in Xbox between now and [Series X] that they feel that they made a good investment and that we’re committed to them with content.”
> Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty confirmed Microsoft's own titles will work across the Xbox family of devices as well as PC for the next two years.
> Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty

You literally can't find a better first-hand source other than the guy that mandates their strategy.

i'm planning on replacing my pc with a console for the next year or two when i'm away for studies and this looks like the best offering assuming it's $500 or less.

>statement made in in november? 2019
>two years
>meaning cross-gen support ends end 2021
>there won't be a single 9th gen Xsex 1st party title because every game has to run on a 2013 console too

I'm not going to get one but I am very excited to watch Sonytards cry and melt down as they get destroyed in performance comparisons

So in the best case scenario (from his vague language, you simply don't know) there won't be a single title for the first year.
How is that a good defence?

Left looks better

imagine being such an xbox hater you're literally asking people to buy an xbox one over a new console to play games just because 2 games will be cross gen (halo? forza?). i knew sony shills were dumb but this takes the cake. it's like asking someone to buy a ps3 to play persona 5 when everyone know its better on ps4 and you have the added benefit of all future gen games on the console too whereas the xbox one/ps3 are DOA or get really shitty cut down ports.

So, seeing as insiders are actually touting this one as "correct"... Any guesses on who's making the Japanese exclusive?

Attached: cookie.jpg (352x352, 30.55K)

I think game pass is awesome, and the one thing Microsoft has done right this gen. If they make some good first party games for the Series X, then yeah I may actually buy it. The hardware looks good, and like I said Gamepass is great. Not give me some games and they can get my money.

Tabatas new studio.

Holy based

I wonder myself, Microsoft and Nintendo are bringing it this year, next, and beyond. Sony doesn't seem to have anything.

Attached: 0tsydt6jq8u21.png (1000x808, 403.53K)

Just saying, it seems the most likely to me. They just started and can probably need some funding, and Phil desperately wants a jap studio.

I am.

I get your point. Xbone's year1 exclusives were so shit and embarassing that you can't bring yourself to post them. In fact I bet you'd have time to recall half of them without googling (made harder by the fact that the all became multiplat shortly after). Xsex is a really hard sell even for Xbox fans considering there won't be anything new or old they can't play on their current systems, while both Nintendo and Sony are going to release bangers during that time period, and PC users will get to enjoy all the games regardless.

My wishlist for Microsoft:

>buy the rights to Eternal Darkness from Nintendo
>buy the rights to Skate and Dead Space from EA
>acquire Sega, reinstate NFL 2K as a direct Madden competitor
>throw money at Atlus and From Soft, get Persona on Xbox as well as an Xbox/Windows exclusive Souls-like game

Add one game that will be a spiritual successor to Silent Hill 2 and it'll be exclusive to seXbox

At this point, Microsoft should aquire Bioware from EA and make a good Mass Effect game again.

> just because 2 games will be cross gen (halo? forza?)
All of them, not "just" but in fact 100% of them, without exception. Every single one.
After that period of time there's always PC which is an even better long-time investment considering it doesn't follow gens at all, if that's your only argument to go by.

I honestly wouldn’t count on anything amazing out of Sony for a good two years either. They’re not just going to forget the 100+ million PS4 owners out there so you can bet that most PS5 games are going to be enhanced versions of PS4 games at least until 2022 or so.

Sega and Atlus are a package deal. I don't think they'll be acquring Sega, but they have defiantly struck a newfound partnership with them. Yakuza launching straight to Game Pass and NA PSO2 being a console exclusive. I actually think MS might be putting the pressure on Sega to get them to make Atlus port Persona to Xbox.

>sonys launch lineup
>ever having "bangers"
lol

Attached: 62846c5041db25d530f30eb48d9b7eb7.jpg (1002x822, 269.25K)

and they're all on xbox series x and played best on xbox series x out of all xbox consoles. what's your point? what are you even arguing?

Give good source and I might add

Getting Persona on Xbox would be a huge advantage, at least in the west.

it's definitely the most powerful of next-gen, so long-term that should help carry it

however the proprietary memory expansion is absolute bullshit and sony-esque

No. Every console microsoft releases they manage to make the industry worse.
OG Xbox: Paid online
360: Horseshit DLC
Xbone: Tried to do forced online authentication, got BTFO, then backdoored it with GamePass.
SeriesX? Who knows? But I doubt whatever they do will be in our best interests.

gamepass is good

All of that stuff would’ve inevitably been part of gaming with or without Microsoft being in the console business. You’re absolutely delusional if you think PlayStation online would’ve been free forever if it weren’t for XBL.

It's a perpetual rental. You may enjoy it for now, but someday you're going to lament how much you paid over so long and that you don't own a damn thing.

You won’t get persona on Xbox, if Nintendo can’t do it Xbox certainly can’t. Firstly there isn’t much of a desire apart from webs who make a small amount of Xbox’s user base, secondly I doubt Sony would let such Atlus leave especially as P5R got 10s all round and if P6 comes out mid 20s it could be another big hit for Sony

Yeah only for Halo: Infinite. If they didn't have any launch games I would've stayed on my PC

This seems fake as fuck, but we'll see in a couple of weeks

Attached: 1558263353392.jpg (314x353, 14.49K)

I disagree. I’ve already played several single player games on game pass that A) I never would’ve gone back to play again; and B) would’ve cost far more to buy them individually than the cost of the subscription.

>inevitably
fallacy

Nah they've already clearly stated there will be exclusives from the getgo. All Xbox console also had exclusives from the start, as did every console ever, Xsex being the sole exception.

Personally I'm not arguing for anything. Whatever MS does won't make me buy a completely redundant system as I will always have a high-end PC (for work reasons, drawfag) and all MS games come out on the machine I already own Day1, in fact some even come out of PC earlier like Gears RTS.
By your logic this is no different to a XboneX. Sure it runs games better but why waste the money until there are actual new experiences not bound by old generation design restrictions? Why pay the premium on launch instead of getting it with innevitable discounts or bundles, which by then the competition will have so many more games it's not even worth considering it?
Again, all the "Pros" for Xsex I'm hearing is longevity and power, both of which PC is MUCH better at and the only good choice for anyone who isn't a braindead brand loyalist.
