Which one do you pick?

gameboy color

PS1, Jesus. Not even a question

PS1 because it has the best library and I can pirate

I got a psone and gameboy color.

PS1.....not even a real question here.

PS1 for sure. N64 is also good, Sega Saturn is kind of a meme.

>But the Xbox 360 just came out!

Pretty much, Saturn is good but the library is too small and if your parents are buying games I don't they'll stumble across and bring you Albert Odyssey or some other cool game for Christmas.

I had no say
>be nintendo kid from NES and SNES
>hype as fuck for nintendo 64
>super mario 64 and wave race looks incredible
>christmas morning
>console sized looking present
>holy shit holy shit
>its a playstation
>welp I guess I'm never going to play super mario 64 ever in my life
>turns out PS1 is pretty fucking rad
idk why my parents went the playstation route but I'm glad they did, was it cheaper?
for some reason it seemed impossible to own two consoles of the same gen, like you had to be a millionaire for that, or an adult with a job

I didn't really have to choose. My mom got me a PS1 and my dad got me a N64.

Zoomers deserve death, Saturn is the best console for 2D sprite games.

Nintendo 64 and 4 controllers

Knowing what I know now, Saturn because I'm a Sega fan and it has a cool library. If it's purely with the mindset of my kid self I'd most likely get a PS1 cause the Saturn was relatively unknown

Yep, retail stores only carried the same 10 or so games every knows about. Every good game you had to mail-order.

I ended up with a Saturn initially. I remember stores stopped carrying Saturn games pretty early on and rental stores had genesis games on the shelves longer than Saturn games

I never knew anyone with a Saturn, and only one friend had a Dreamcast and he won it in some contest and we barely played it. Sega post Genesis was hardly a contender, even if they made good consoles. PS1 also has an amazing library on it.

My grandma bought me a saturn from a thrift store with this case. Got Shellshock, Pandemonium, and Command and Conquer. I still have the system, but no cables and controllers. I think my brother used the case when he stole my SNES for drugs. Good times.

I'm not saying Saturn isn't good, I'm saying if it's your parents buying the games I doubt they'll bring home anything worthwhile.

this is the correct answer

Playstation.

obviously PS1, is this seriously even a question?

Ps1
It was a hard choice.

64 for the multiplayer when it was still new. Being a cloistered hermit with the others could come later.

Sega Saturn was too niche much like the Dreamcast ended up in the PS2 generation. They were both (pretty) good systems but more of a collector type of thing as they are import heavy.

Nintendo64 was also pretty good but I think the controller just turned off a lot people compared to the PS1 controller which looked like a next gen SNES' one.

PS1 just had the best library IMO.
Also I think a part of it that nobody thinks about is that if consider yourself to have "grown up with videogames all your life, most people started with a NES, then a SNES or Genesis, and then you were a teen or older when the PS1 came out and it's "mature" image and games, it probably appealed to you. There was the 3DO who tried to do it too but that shit was way too expensive for no good reason.

As a kid who grew up with the N64, I'm not even sure what I would playon the PS1. Crash Bandicoot? Mario 64 is better. Final Fantasy sucks. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are the only notable shooters that console generation. Mark Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, and Extreme G blow out whatever tryhard realism racing game the PS1 has.

Honestly, the PS1 has more titles, but the only noteworthy ones are just inferior to N64 games.

Out of those, N64.

N64. Too many great games (F zero X, Mario anything, lego racers, etc.)

I have a Saturn and only have Marvel Superheroes worth a damn for it.

>PS1
Best choice.
>N64
Hope you like platformers.
>Saturn
Hope you like Sonic.

Why would I ask for a Saturn when its a generation behind N64 and PS1?
