This has to be the most soulless, rushed entry in the franchise
>no adventure mode >SO many Kid Icarus characters >SO many fire emblem characters >SO many sword characters >boring looking menus >no Snake >no Wolf >no ice climbers >mii >who the fuck is Corrin?
>Rushed It had a longer development time than 64 and Melee combined.
Daniel Morris
The wiiu version is. It's purposely held back so they could add stuff to the switch version. The 3DS has so much soul some of the best stages added in a long time, and smash run. Also handheld comfy
Ian Adams
It's okay, you don't need to keep justifying why you didn't own a Wii U. They're finally porting W101, soon you'll be free.
Jaxson Perry
You say that, but then why the hell is the online even worse in ultimate
Jayden Reyes
Yet, being earlier entries in the series, melee introduced more content from its predecessor. The lack of adventure mode makes 4 a downgrade from Brawl
Christopher Bennett
did anyone play the 3ds version? was it any good
Luke Davis
I’m playing it right now on my Wii u. I am realizing how much I miss from brawl.
Jacob Moore
Ah yes, the Subspace that mode you probably only played once and never thought about it again until it was removed in 4.
Connor Hall
It was cool though
Leo Ramirez
talk shit about this game all you want but the menu and battlefield themes are kino and I'll fucking shit on your face if you don't agree
Owen Perez
Not him, but I played subspace to death and regularly watched the cutscenes. It's the best smash mode by far. People only dislike it because they were expecting something other than smash bros. for some reason. It's not perfect by any means, but calling it bad was stupid from day one.
Jackson Bennett
Played the demo, it was cool having a portable Smash but it never convinced me to buy it.
Thomas Morgan
3DS is pretty damn good for Smash Run alone. But it's also got the best input latency in the series. Wii U is actually the inferior version imo.
Owen Lee
It had Smash Run, and despite some detractors, that mode was so fun and replayable and it's a damn shame it's not in Ultimate
Carson Jenkins
Classic mode was likely the best take on it (while Wii U's had the worst one), Smash Run also was a decent addition, although it kind of sucked as a multiplayer mode (run around in this area for 2 minutes in single player to gather power ups, before going to multiplayer match that only lasts one minute), but it still had some other issues of the Wii U game, like the grind to gather custom moves, and no real new single player content outside of classic/all star/grinding smash run solo for custom moves (in the 3ds' case it didn't even have an event mode).

Wasn't it said somewhere that Sakurai might have considered only making a 3DS title for the nest installment, or was this just speculation? Either way, the 3DS version actually feels more complete in a lot of ways, ignoring the lack of a few modes like Events and some franchises not getting new stages, both of which were instead put in the Wii U version.
Ethan Jones
I have fun modding it tbqh
David Gray
If you didn't have friends to play with it was the best version.
Easton Barnes
>No adventure mode Yes >So many KI characters Yes >So many FE characters Yes >Boring looking menus Better than 64's >No Snake Blame Konami >No Wolf He was shit in Brawl anyway >No Ice Climbers You didn't even care about them before Smash >Mii Good addition >Corrin Bad You come across as a nostalgiatard who hates new shit and only clings to the older games, grow up retard.
Hudson Morales
looked better than the shitch version
Angel Morales
You forget that the newcomers were shit compared to the other games, most of them were only added because they were featured in a recent game.
Sebastian Sanchez
>>no adventure mode >>SO many Kid Icarus characters >>SO many fire emblem characters >>SO many sword characters >>boring looking menus >>no Snake >>no Wolf >>no ice climbers >>mii >>who the fuck is Corrin? Let’s see you make a better roster, American
I think ultimate is the best one if you think I’m nostalgiafagging
Cameron Campbell
Ultimate
Elijah Parker
It's not rushed, it was just incredibly held back by also having a 3DS version.
Camden Johnson
Here's my old modpack for anyone that's interested. drive.google.com/open?id=1VNS7Ck8pE_Py2sUZB90eUVuG0f_qYJWl >Tons of Skins for almost all characters >Reorganized character select screen that's only perfect when viewing the css used for online >Vaporwave aesthetic >Voices and sound effects for specific skins >Only a handful of joke skins (Banjo, Spongebob, Goku and 4 or 5 others) >Tons of custom music >Some custom victory themes >No cheats >WiFi friendly, but don't be surprised if the game crashes at some point
Issues >Star Fox Assault stage may crash when not in its omega form >Link has a few blank css portraits, but they should work fine (They're based on smash 64) >Sheik has a blank CSS which is perfectly harmless >Zelda's victory has some static (just remove her victory theme and it will go back to normal) I'm sharing this because smash 4 is over and the people left with it should be allowed to have fun.
Brawl was better. It felt grander. 4 is so generic.
Ayden Anderson
I forgot to add a few things. >I didn't replace any default skins if I didn't have to >Kirby will "break" when stealing powers from enemies, so his extra costume slots all have hats to help remind you not to use them
Liam Turner
>Kirby will "break" when stealing powers from enemies To clarify, Kirby will only "break" when using his additional costume slots. You can still use his inhale to spit people out. His original 8 costume slots can still use powers.
Isaiah Evans
I joined the Navy like a cuck, and when Smash 4 came out I was stationed on an aircraft carrier. Playing 3DS Smash on that ship with the boys was sometimes all I had to look forward too. Fuck the WII U version, the 3DS smash will always have a special place in my heart.
