Try DDS

Doesn't matter where you start, just play them faggot.

They are like final fantasy games, there are no sequels.

>there are no sequels.
SMT2 is a sequel to 1

Between a 3DS and PS2 I can play every SMT right?

Nine is xbox only (and untranslated) and there's an untranslated MMO too, not counting the SNES ones.

Persona 5 Royal

with a life stone.

Worst possible option to start. Most people that start with a Persona game won't get out of that bubble ever.
It's better to start the series with a mainline Megaten game, that way you can get to like almost all of the series in the franchise, including Persona.

SMT IV, DDS or Persona 2

Don't start with nu-persona, they're great games but you'll have a hard time getting into mainline SMT after that
Nocture is likely to kick your ass and make you drop it, the other options are more newb friendly

SMT4 to pick up the mechanics quickly.
Then you play whatever else like SMT3, DDS1/2, and Strange Journey

You can easily branch out from 3 or 4, it's usually P5babbies the ones that don't bother with previous games in its own series or even acknowledge any other Megaten game.

SMT IV or DDS. play noct after you finish one of those

Persona 5 The Royal

I started with Devil Survivor and enjoyed it more than IV. I think it's still fucked on Citra although apparently an older version can run it fine.

I started with Persona 4 vanilla and P3P after that and I managed to transition into real megaten after that with DeSu, Strange Journey and then Nocturne. I can see where you're coming from but I don't think it's always the case.
Anyway OP I recommend Nocturne, Strange Journey or SMTIV.

but I started playing Nocturne and IV because I beat P5 first (it's actually the first megaten game that I actually beat to completion even though I played P3 and P4 on release I never beat em). Let's just say the mechanics in 5 helps me a lot in Nocturne because I'm already familiar with the basic gameplay and spell names and shit

3, Strange Journey Redux, 4 Apocalypse, Raidou 1&2, and Devil Survivor 2 Remix.

Trauma Center

Nocturne until it's too boring to continue, then drop
That's all the SMT you need.

>Nocturne until it's too boring to continue, then drop

Fucking faggot. Nocturne just gets better and better, the fusion bait it hangs over your head is great. Plus unlocking Dante and beating the shit out of the Lucifer minion bosses is fun. Fuck you faggot.

fuck the labyrinth desu. everything else is okay

This but unironically

I don't understand how people can tolerate DDS, it's so damn boring. It's as boring as a normal SMT game except there's no hard difficulty, you also can't even sperg fusions and estoma doesn't do shit.

Pic unless you hate retro games

>le p2 is good meme

DDS is boring as fuck, you're not alone. I actually dowsed off several times while playing DDS1, then I ragequit DDS2 in the last dungeon. Human and demon transformation, good idea but underdeveloped. Plot inconsistency by the writer leaving for the sequel. And the soundtrack in DDS1 didn't help by how subdued it was, a problem that was fixed in DDS2. But by the time you're doing the victory march to the final boss, it goes into the dullest MegaMan style boss rush imaginable. I just watched the ending on YouTube.

I was also extremely agitated it kept switching my party members. The biggest problem with DDS games is you need to plan so much ahead, like 30 hours ahead planning because of the asinine skill tree system and the grinding required for it.
