This isn't XCOM 3, Jake.

>character dies
>mission fails
i was interested but thats lame as fuck

>alternating turn order

what the fuck

>release in 10 days
lmao

so let me see if I understand this

>fixed cast of agents
>if any one of them dies your mission ends right there and you must replay until everyone lives
>only fighting in one city
>no more mech bois

Ehh... I dunno. I never got around to playing XCom 2, but something about it was off-putting to me back then, and now those feelings are doubled here. Mite be cool though.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS LMAOOOO

So its a more linear game with a bigger emphasis on story and also a ten buck budget release?

Sure, why not? Seems interesting and it's a spinoff instead of a replacement for Xcom 3.

X2 with mods is really good. This new thing might be a pass though

according to this thread

>nobody asked for this, the sequel

It's a budget priced spinoff and not X-COM 3. It's for the crowd who like stuff like Mutant Year Zero or Phantom Doctrine and want a more linear and story driven campaign.

which mods, friend?

not really a sequel but this defiantly inst something we asked for

If they were asking full price for this I'd scoff but it's ten burger bucks, the perfect price for blind buys

Well. It's different, but I am intrigued.
Regular nuX-COM just leaves me wanting to play OpenXcom instead of them so if you aren't going to go all in on being like the classic games but with more, further differentiating is probably preferable.

Now I just hope the game won't suck.

Did they make a new Apoc instead of a new TFTD? I've never played Apoc so I can't say but the way the campaign map is based on a city makes me think it is inspired by that.

gameplay looks good but why is it covered in a coat of diversity

Fighting in only one city is fine as long as its apocolypse levels of detail. Though i doupt this is so bleh.

>retards already seething thinking its a new mainline game and not a glorified standalone expac
bros....

I thought the new xcom was that gears of war one?

All the assets are from XCOM 2 with a filter put on top and it's $10

>10 euro

day one purchase

id be excited for this if the agents could actually die, it looks a lot like into the breach, but i wish they didnt double down on the superhero aspect of nu com, giving them little personalities is fine, just give me a randomised roster of operators thats left dwindling when i play badly, like darkest dungeon or something

fucksake jake
hopefully its got good mod support

>Ayys on your squad
Oh shit, finally
So is there attempt at something like Gears Tactics I guess?
>8.50
Shit, whats the worst that could happen

Because its XCOM

I think this is less like a roguelite than nu-com. Looks like it's something you're expected to play and beat once or maybe thrice on higher difficulties, rather than endlessly replay with different strats.

Which id fine for ten bucks I guess.

WHAT THE FUCK

FUCKING HERESY MUTANT XENO SCUM

>This game for $10 in 10 days
>Gears Tactics comes 4 days later

Oh baby

You have played XCOM before, haven’t you? Where all your troops come from all over the world?

Jake just said this isn't being made by the main XCOM team

Wait. Does it really release in but a week?

This doesn't look terrible but it feels like a tablet game or something.

>Still square grid based instead of actual free, complex 3D levels
>Still no complex physics and destroyable environments
>Still the same fucking everything of the 2012 game which is a downgrade in every way, shape, and form from the original trilogy, let alone what current technology allows
Better than JRPGs, I guess.

>why not?

Because it's using time and resources on a project that nobody wants and that goes completely against the elements of X-COM people enjoy

I don't care that it looks trash, vipers are back

>50% preorder discount
something has to be wrong here
no company is this generous, especially one of the larger ones like 2K
doesn't even look like they're being paid by Epic

This better be some sort of side project they squeezed out while working on XCOM3, this shit looks mega fucking gay

>bro why are their bl*cks in my game about international solidarity in crisis as humanity kicks the fuck out of its collective enemies....bro why amn't i only seeing aryan men....bro?

>Because it's using time and resources
its not
what now?
twitter.com/SolomonJake/status/1250062344899760132

>new xcom game out of nowhere releasing in 10 days
>costs less than 10 bongbux on release
I am suspicious.

>isn't being made by the main XCOM team
Kinda, Mark Nauta was an important part of XCOM2 and WoTC development, but Jake himself hasn't seen over it while he's been working on XCOM3

Sauce it.

>every non-alien unit in the video is a nigger
whyM

Bro it's a spinoff. The money and time spent on this isn't being leeched from X-COM 3. It's something different to try appeal on a different basis.

Thanks for confirming, Jake. Now go back and work on XCOM3.

Gears Tactics is a full title. This is more like a small spin-off, probably something to hold people over until XCOM 3.

Wait for XCOM3, this is just a spin-off
